March 3, 2022: Swedish furniture giant Ikea said on Thursday it would suspend its operations in Russia and Belarus, affecting nearly 15,000 workers, 17 stores and three manufacturing sites, in response to the war in Ukraine.
“The war has already had a huge human impact. It is also causing serious disruptions to the supply chain and trading conditions. For all these reasons, Ikea has decided to temporarily suspend operations in Russia,” the company said in a statement to AFP.
