| Job Description : | MedTec HealthcareAdult Day Care – Activity Director JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for individuals with the compassion, organization and drive to join our team as the Activity Director of a new adult day service center in Naperville, IL.Our adult day service centers serve the members of our communities by providing a lively day-based care center that provides seniors a community of friends and enables them to continue living independently. By engaging in social and enrichment activities, our members keep their minds sharp, spirits high, and provide a break for family and other caregivers. Daily activities include music lessons, light exercise, group activities, crafts and games, language lessons, and current events discussions.Our centers also provide meals and transportation for our participants. Each center maintains health and wellness with an on-site nurse to provide wellness checks.Our centers operate Monday – Friday from 8-4pm and provide non-medical community-based care in a friendly setting.The Activity Director will work on-site in our newest location and lead all efforts in programming, activities, education, and participant enrichment. This position is critical to ensure the well-being of our clients and help them maintain their independence.Responsibilities:Develop, plan, and lead all social and recreational programs within the centerEvaluate client interests and cater programming to their overall needsCreate and support participant led activitiesFoster client engagement and encourage participation while creating an enjoyable and welcoming atmosphereCreate and maintain activity schedules, announcements, and community eventsWork with Administrator to request and maintain activity suppliesCultivate community within the center and celebrate individual achievements and developmentTO BE A STRONG CANDIDATE FOR THE POSITION: Experience as an activity director in a group settingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA passion for serving others – especially the aging population in the communityQuick learner, detail oriented and resourcefulMust be a problem-solver and be a team-playerSelf-starter and able to shift gears at any given timePleasantly persistent approach, with a flexible and positive attitudeA passion for mentorship and team-developmentPrior experience in senior care, day care or healthcare delivery is preferredABOUT MEDTECFounded in 2003, MedTec helps seniors continue living an exceptional life from the comfort of their own homes.
