Job Description : The Director for the Office of Administration and Finance (A&F) provides collaborative leadership, strong analytical, financial, and project management skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and University leadership at all levels. Working closely with the Associate Vice President for Budget & Finance, the Director provides supportive oversight and recommendations for planning, policies, communications, and development relative to strategic and financial planning for areas reporting to the Associate Vice President: Financial Services, Budget & Financial Planning, Research Financial Services, Shared Business Service Center, and Risk Management. The Director provides highlevel project leadership on various initiatives and projects and represents A&F to internal and external stakeholders. They coordinate between A&F and colleges, departments, faculty, staff, students, and external constituents and assist with the management of the daytoday operations of A&F. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Manages highpriority projects for A&F that are aligned with the University’s mission and strategic vision. Builds and maintains successful working relationships and coordinates with a wide range of offices, staff, and stakeholders, internal and external to the University. Establishes and maintains highly effective relationships with constituents across all campuses. Develops, recommends, and implements administrative, fiscal, and operational policies and procedures in compliance with the University, federal and state guidelines; maintains policy and procedure documentation and processes Assists in strategic communications efforts on behalf of A&F, partnering as necessary with other senior leaders across the University Prioritizes, manages, and participates in a variety of projects to ensure that financial, service, and operational goals are achieved Oversees budgeting, financial planning, and approval of department expenditures; prepares budget and financial reports Provides administrative management and oversight of A&F daytoday operations, including project management; establishes specific and longrange department goals Supervises departmental staff, including hiring, training, performance management and employee discipline and/or termination Provides division administrative support, including ongoing review and approval of personnel actions and annual performance evaluation submissions Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position ****Required Attachments: Cover letter, resume, and three professional references**** Job Requirements Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or closely related field. 60 months in a university or equivalent administrative position. Skills: Highly motivated with a strong interest in serving the needs of the University, faculty, staff, and students with a demonstrated commitment to customer service, integrity, and transparency Excellent organizational abilities with strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products Certifications: None Advertised Physical Requirements: Must be able to see including color, depth perception and clarity, hear, communicate, touch, feel, move, grasp, engage in repetitive motions, stand, reach, push, pull. Must be able to climb stairs. Department Preferences: Accounting experience with a large organization OU experience, especially within financial areas OU systems experience (e.g., PeopleSoft and Adaptive Planning) Master’s degree in business or related field Certified Public Accountant or MBA Demonstrated success in creating and maintaining a culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, accountability, and service Excels in relationship building with diverse constituents, internally and externally Record of leadership and vision that will facilitate successful collaborative efforts across colleges and departments and with external partners Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an attention to detail but able to see the big picture Proven track record of effective staff leadership Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire others to work collaboratively Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex finances and details Ability to handle confidential information and demonstrate sound judgment High emotional intelligence and diplomacy with the ability to bring stakeholders with diverse goals/objectives to consensus 36 months of project management experience Supervision: 15 Staff Special Instructions: If you are selected as a final candidate for this position, you will be subject to The University of Oklahoma Norman Campus Tuberculosis Testing policy.
