Job Description : Undergraduate Admissions (UA) provides leadership, planning, management, and implementation of undergraduate admissions, recruitment and outreach services. UA participates in development of campus enrollment goals and ensures that goals are met through implementing UC and UC Davis Academic Senate policy for selective admissions, and fulfilling internal and campus-wide enrollment management initiatives. UA also establishes initial undergraduate student profile data for the UC Davis student records database and determines for each entering undergraduate their academic credit toward a baccalaureate degree. Job Summary Under direction of the Associate Director, work in a regional office location. Recruit students to UC Davis. Explain and clarify admissions policies and processes. Oversee alumni volunteers in recruitment activities. Develop yield activities. Assist admitted students, families, and counselors with admissions issues. Serve on advisory committees to promote student recruitment. Evaluate and finalize applications in the admissions selection process. Evaluate and enhance recruitment and yield programs. Work independently recruiting students in a multi-county region through school and college visits, school district wide and community based college fairs. Support campus enrollment targets through development and implementation of yield activities. In a region of one hundred plus high schools and numerous community colleges, strategically prioritizes visit requests from high feeder schools, schools with broad diversity, newly formed charter schools, to highly selective and elite schools to promote a highly qualified applicant pool. Collaborate with UA and campus events coordinators and staff in developing campus events for admitted students. Coordinate recruitment visits of Alumni Ambassador volunteers, including training, provision of materials, and logistics. Create a comprehensive visit schedule which maximizes visits per day and cost efficiency. Manage a budget including student program activities, alumni resources, and administration. Support the admission selection process through application review and staffing campus wide yield activities. POSITION INFORMATION Salary Range $49,400/yr. – $99,200/yr. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Additional Minimum License/Certification: Minimum Education/Experience: In-depth knowledge of admissions policies and procedures affecting programs and student issues. Program planning and development skills. Analytical skills to analyze, evaluate and interpret, technical and non-technical program requirements, information, federal/state/university rules, regulations, and policies. Leadership and decision-making skills to evaluate program/student needs, problem-solve, chair meetings/committees, and train other staff. Skill to create and present effective public presentations and training. Budgetary skill to oversee budgetary allocations, approve or deny requests for funds, and to make economical budgetary plans and decisions. Interpersonal communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with individuals of varying ages, cultural backgrounds and perspectives. Writing skills to prepare a variety of proposals, correspondence, reports, procedures, agreements, and training documents. Computer skills to utilize various programs and software for word processing, spreadsheets, and student database management programs. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) : PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional Preferred License/Certification: Preferred Education/Experience: Spanish language skills to speak fluently and effectively interact with parents and other important stakeholders in the targeted community. Knowledge of fundamental high school and university academic program principles and standards.
