Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Leads the operational logistics for diverse student success programs, including the RRPG Latino Scholars Outreach Program. .Ensures program meets established goals, objectives, and guidelines. Responsible for specific program development, implementation, and management of day-to-day operations involving planning, supervision, and evaluation of programs and professional staff, budgeting, record retention, and preparing annual reports on key metrics for targeted student population. Responsible for leading, developing and implementing outreach that promotes matriculation, retention, academic success, social and cultural integration into the campus community with the intent of enhancing diverse students’ academic success and sense of belonging. Collaborates with key campus units to grow and cultivate strong relationships in attracting prospective program participants and providing avenues for student success. Manages graduation coaches to assure academic guidance and program information continues to be a key component of participants’ student success. Serves in a leadership capacity representing the unit on committees focusing on outreach services and student success. Oversees external outreach activity designed to recruit and retain diverse students.
Manages all enrollment and academic support services, on-boarding, student transitions into KSU for diverse student success programs, including the RRPG Latino Scholars Outreach ProgramRecruits, hires, and manages graduation coaches professional staff and monitors, organizes, prioritizes and plans personnel and project work schedulesParticipation in and encourage students to participate in significant campus activities (e.g. Welcome Week, Homecoming Weekend, Creed Week, and Commencement activities)Collaborates with Financial Aid with identifying, administrating, and monitoring program related scholarshipsResponsive to new needs from colleagues, students, parents/guardians, campus partners and external stakeholderCreative problem solves and independently initiates and develops action plan for addressing identified program issuesCollaborates with the Project Manager to identify, design and implement specific processes that create effective collaborations pertaining to expenditures and funding allocationsDevelops and maintains records, databases and statistical information on student SAP, financial aid, graduation status and on materials, equipment, and supplies usageDevelops annual program outcomes, evaluations, and annual reporting for above-stated programs, including relevant national, local, and campus-wide trends and needs for identified student populationsCollaborates with associates, key campus units, and external stakeholders responsible for student success and recruitment to have current, relevant on-boarding content for incoming diverse student populations students and provide meaningful transition programmingDevelops and coordinates with Assistant Director, Co-Curricular Program Strategies to customized programs for specific diverse student populations, (e.g. transfer, first generation, high achievers, Diverse student populations, students from urban or rural areas)Assists Strategic Outreach and Diversity Initiatives (SODI) Director in identifying budgetary needs and resources and evaluate the impact of targeted programs and services when seeking grants and/or external funds and resources Works collaboratively with the SODI Director and Assistant Director, Co-Curricular Program Strategies on strategic efforts designed to enhance on-going student development and learning for academically advancing a diverse targeted student populationAssists in the community building and development of identity-based alumni and faculty and staff networks to support students more broadlyRepresents unit on campus committees, and participates in meetings, working groups, workshops, conferences, and communities aligned with student success initiatives
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Other Required Qualifications
Current valid, and unrestricted Georgia driver’s license
Five (5) years of supervisory in higher education and related professional experience in outreach program design and implementation
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in relevant field
Native or near native fluency in Spanish (Oral and Written)
Experience writing and managing grants
Experience in supervision and the management of both professional and student staff teams
Expertise in retention engagement programs and graduation initiatives
Basic data and budget management
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to manage and supervise personnel and student work groups
Able to serve on program, department, college and/or university committees as needed
Ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with associates, key campus and external stakeholders, administrators, and student leaders
Able to work after business hours and on weekends
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines
Knowledge of student outreach, recruitment, and enrollment processes in a higher education setting
Familiar with higher education environment, student engagement, and best practices for student success
Remains current with student trends and industry best practices Experience planning, coordinating, and executing large events
Knowledgeable of wrap around services/programs
Familiar with culture, policies, and procedures in an institution of higher education Experience with empowerment of students and creative educational programming
Analytical thinking and creative skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication, and presentation
