Job Description : The Assistant Director advises the CSU Program Board, manages multiple program budgets, advises 260+ student organizations, and evaluates over 4000 student events annually. This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing late night programming efforts (alcohol and substance alternative programming). They oversee efforts and the registration of 260+ student organizations (undergrad, grad and professional) on the Omaha, PHX and regional campuses as well as the training and communication with all organizations, officers and their 260+ moderators. This position implements the Student Organization Review Committee (SORC)/creation of clubs. They plan the Skutt Shutdown/involvement fair, which serves over 1700 students annually as a retention/involvement effort. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing University policies, such as the travel policy for Clery Act compliance. Qualifications: Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling or other related field required. One to two years of experience in student affairs required. An understanding of the value of holistic student development and of the motivations of students who participate in co-curricular learning experiences is required. An understanding of and the ability to apply student development and learning outcomes theories is required. The ability to sustain communication with diverse groups, anticipate problems, reconcile conflicts, and maintain a strong philosophical base for student activities. Excellent written and verbal communications are required. Experience in student programming, advising student groups and/or leadership development is required. National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) experience preferred. An appreciation of the Ignatian tradition required. Night and weekend commitments are required.
