||Assistant Director of Transfer Evaluation Services – (22000058)

The Assistant Director of Transfer Evaluation Services will be responsible for the evaluation of transfer credits from in state and out of state institutions for incoming and currently enrolled transfer students. Be a point of contact for our Towson University Transfer population as it relates to the evaluation of credits. Will play a key part in the Transfer Orientation Program. Assist with the preparation and processes of credit evaluations and updates. Act as a liaison to assigned academic colleges on main campus. Will be the key contact and responsible for managing a special population/Cohort. Represent Towson University at campus events such as Open Houses and TU4U, etc.
Responsibilities and Duties
Review, interpret and evaluate college transcripts and other documents for newly admitted and currently enrolled transfer students to determine transferability and applicability of college courses, prior learning, credit by examination, and other non-traditional credit bearing experiences. Assist with maintaining courses equivalencies and articulation. Will utilize TES, ARTSYS, and Quottly in evaluating credits. Serve as a resource for academic departments, community colleges and off campus agencies regarding transferability of courses to the University. Act as a liaison for an assigned academic college for relevant matters in transfer admissions and evaluations. Understand admissions policies and requirements, develop partnerships with university and external constituents, work with other staff to ensure the maximization of transfer credits. Be available to meet with currently enrolled transfer students to discuss any credit related issues, assist with transfer petition processes, and help resolve transfer credit discrepancies via in person, virtual, and email. Work with department advisors as it relates to transfer credit placement/equivalency. Utilize TES workflow to send equivalency requests to departments. Communicate any curriculum changes to the Transfer Articulation team.
Manage a Special Population/Cohort working with Program Directors or related departments to include the preparation of transfer credits adhering to policies and procedures outlined for these specific programs. Complete general admissions duties including, but not limited to, customer service, applicant processing, holistic review, on-campus events, special projects, campus committees, and any other duties as assigned as needed to meet the needs of enrollment and the needs of the university.
Qualifications and Skills
One year of experience in higher education
Excellent communication skills
Ability to present to small and large groups of people in various types of venues.
Must pay attention to detail and possess strong organizational skills.
Team player with a strong work ethic,
Interested in and attentive to cross cultural communication and someone who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast paced environment.
Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
The familiarity and use of technology is critical to the success of this position and the overall operation of the Office of University Admissions.
