| Job Description : | We are one of leading container logistics trucking companies in the Port Newark area. Our company with a fleet of over 130 trucks specializes in transporting containers in and out of the NJ and Savannah Ports.We currently have a full-time opportunity for an Assistant Safety Manager .The Assistant Safety Manager’s key responsibility is to ensure that everything is in compliance with FMCSA guidelines and make changes to improve the safety operations of our fleet.Essential Job Duties for DOT Assistant Safety Manager: Secondary point of contact for all safety issues within our companyWeekly auditing of drivers HOS and E-logsDocuments, files, and track drivers in order to maintain driver qualification processes per DOT/FMCSA standards to ensure compliance.Ensures compliance with all company and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, policies, and proceduresConduct accident investigationsAssist with insurance claim processAssist with driver safety programAssist other departments within the company by providing technical input and insight into regulatory requirementsIdentify training needs and conduct proactive safety related trainingAdminister discipline for safety related violationsAssist with Driver Log audit and corrections, including electronic logsIdentify technologies that can be leveraged to improve safety and recruiting operationsOther duties assigned by ManagementCOMPETENCIES:Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS) rules and exposure to electronic logsExcellent organizational skills and proficiency in personal computer tasks are required, along with superior written and verbal communication skills.Preferably 3 years related experience in management capacityHigh level of proficiency in procedures, policies, methodology, and instructionKnowledge of Federal and State traffic laws and requirements for tractor/trailer equipmentProven leadership and project management skillsAbility to communicate in a courteous and professional mannerAbility to work independently and be detail orientedThis is the perfect opportunity for the individual seeking growth and recognition within a company.We are looking for candidates who are looking to grow with us as we grow and looking for a long term career with us.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:Associate (Preferred)Experience:logistics safety: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
