**Exempt Regular Full-Time Position**
This position will be split between two campuses: University of Maryland, Baltimore and The Universities at Shady Grove located in Rockville, Maryland
The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director, Career Development and Placement to support the Office of Graduate Programs. The selected candidate will report to the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and provide support in all student services and student life initiatives through development, enhancement, and guidance of its multiple functions for Master of Science Programs in the School. This position will collaborate with other departments within the School, UMB Campus, and Shady Grove to ensure delivery of high-quality student support services.
The School of Pharmacy, offers a number of highly competitive research-based Master’s Degree programs which include programs in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics, Palliative Care, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacometrics, and Regulatory Science.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Develop contacts and relationships with various employers, such as corporations, community, governmental, and other agencies to cultivate and expand employment opportunities for students, graduates, or alumni of the school.
Assist in the development of marketing initiatives to expand and foster positive relationships with potential employers, increasing awareness about the school’s competitive academic program, student body, and the recruiting programs and services.
Provide individual and group career advising for students and graduates on all phases of their job searches.
Manages student engagement efforts including tracking career counseling outreach and placements.
Plans and implements professional development programming in areas including recruiting practices, professionalism, job search techniques, self-presentation, and networking skills.
Manages employer databases for internal and student, graduates, or alumni use.
Plans and implements initiatives to help generate career pathway opportunities, increase student engagement, expand working relationships with alumni and employers, and increase the office’s offerings and resources.
Attends conferences of various academic related disciplines related to core degree programs to recruit companies to participate in hiring graduates that meet the program objectives.
Engages with alumni to participate in career and mentoring events and to contribute to teaching mission.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree. Master’s or Juris Doctorate preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in career services, academic or student affairs, or related experience.
Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of experience at a management or leadership level.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. Ability to demonstrate, understand, apply, and adhere to the UMB Core Values of Respect and Integrity, Well-being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery.
Hiring Range: Commensurate with education and experience (Mid $60 to $70K)
