Job Description : GRS Strategy and Innovation is seeking a Business Alignment Project Leader to join the team. Strategy & Innovation is responsible for driving GRS’ strategic transformation and planning, championing our highest priority innovation initiatives as well as ensuring the efficient execution of executive team routines, commitments, and deliverables. Working closely with the GRS Strategy Alignment Leader and collaborating regularly with the broader team, the Business Alignment Project Leader will coordinate executive preparation for key events like rating agency reviews, Board of Directors meetings, and senior and executive leadership meetings, as well as lead or participate in select cross functional strategic initiatives in support of GRS’ strategic roadmap and business decisions. This is a highly visible role with routine exposure to senior executives and managers across GRS and Liberty to support their deliverables, enable decision making and drive progress on large scale strategic initiatives. It requires effective engagement, coordination, and collaboration across GRS functions, a collaborative thought leader with experience managing complex initiatives, and an individual who is organized and can easily apply strategic thinking and a high degree of independence in execution. Responsibilities: Partner with the Strategy Alignment Leader to design, improve and manage GRS executive leadership team routines and cadences. Help to develop processes, solutions, and practices that support the efficient running of the GRS executive office/team. Develop presentations and agendas for executive and senior leadership team meetings, offsites and workshops, to drive collaboration and alignment. By so doing, support setting the strategic focus areas for GRS, prioritize key issues for executive resolution, enable decision making and completion of executive deliverables. Drive transparency and alignment across the GRS executive team through strong communication and timely sharing of information. Support execution of the GRS strategic roadmap by partnering across our segment strategy leaders and the Strategic Planning & Execution team to deliver a variety of large-scale, cross-functional strategic initiatives. Provide project management capabilities to effectively complete assigned projects and deliverables. Design and lead project related activities in the areas of strategy development and strategic planning, operating models, and employee engagement activities. Lead the structuring, storyboarding, and creation of materials, narratives and slide decks for critical executive presentations both internally and to the Board and external agencies. This may involve working across the organization to align on consistent approaches and key messages. Act as a liaison to the Enterprise Strategy Office to help coordinate GRS’ participation in enterprise level strategic work e.g., disruptive trends, emerging risks, etc. Facilitate critical cross-SBU engagements to ensure strong business and strategic alignment, and to unlock the benefits of collaboration. Escalate and resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place deliverables or objectives at risk. Identify and provide visibility into trade-offs between options, while identifying recommended approach. Build and leverage relationships across GRS and Liberty at varying levels of leadership to build consensus, gain alignment and approvals, influence decisions, and get work done through others. Partner with enabling teams across GRS etc. to drive timely decisions and actionable outcomes on deliverables. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience or the equivalent required OR competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 10+ years of relevant project management or operational (leadership/ management) experience. Advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated strong presentation, storyboarding and communication skills and ability to clearly articulate business cases and key leadership messages. Mastery of Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation creation / design. Strong influencing skills and the ability to be highly collaborative and build and maintain strong relationships across GRS and other enabling teams. Must be driven and flexible to succeed in ambiguous and less structured situations. Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty. Ability to ruthlessly prioritize work. Works well in a high paced environment with competing priorities. Effective project management skills and experience managing highly complex, cross-functional projects; fully proficient at managing the life cycle of projects. Strong ability to adapt and address unique challenges in collaborative and creative ways. Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional groups during decision making Strong financial and business acumen.
