Channel Development & Partnerships (CDP) sits within Commercial Management and is part of the Channel Sales (CS) business. CDP explores new channel development opportunities to diversify the core business, creates solid partnerships and creates new business opportunities which contribute to CS successfully achieving its KPI’s and future business growth
Identify new channel opportunities and deliver projects that maximise engagement & revenue growth for Channel Sales
Explore, create and deliver strategic and/or commercial partnerships with blue chip companies in new business verticals that expand our Channel mix
Develop New Business frameworks and execute globally to help achieve the Channel Sales commercial objectives
Create White Papers for Channel Sales Leadership on new/emerging fields worthy of exploration (5G, Telcos, Automotive)
Identify opportunities & outline potential partnerships in new fields & rationalise why these opportunities/partnerships are important to PlayStation with suggestions on how to realise them
Based in San Mateo, California
What you’ll be doing:
Pitching PlayStation assets to new or existing partners to unlock mutually beneficial commercial opportunities
Connecting other parts of PlayStation business to realise additional commercial opportunities (Global Marketing, Global Business Development, Product & Platform Management, Future Technology Group and across Global Sales & Business Operations)
Explore & develop commercial collaboration opportunities with other Sony businesses in the spirit of ‘One Sony’ in partnership with Global Marketing
Supporting the Director of Channel Development & Partnerships in:
Identifying & planning new growth categories/channels & aligning with PlayStation commercial objectives in utilising PlayStation assets
Building strategic partnerships portfolio
What we are looking for:
Creative individual with ability to explore & rationalise new opportunities & channels relevant to PlayStation business
Strong commercial negotiation & partner management skills (communication, collaboration & persuasion)Experience working across multiple business functions (marketing, legal, finance, product development, business management) and within a regional and global function matrix
Commercial awareness of games and consumer entertainment markets
Wide-range of experience with ability to resolve complex issues in creative & effective ways
Evidence of using data to analyse commercial models, evaluate opportunities and develop business cases
Proven track record with complex business economics
Solution focused and problem solving attitude
Ability to lead new assignments and take leadership role in coordinating teams to bring projects to mark
Ability to identify opportunities/threats and recommending new business development ideas and propositions to develop
Delivery of successful initiatives/projects to market
Analysis and evaluation of projects to ensure they hit objectives & KPI’s
Demonstrating game changing behaviours (creativity, collaboration & communication) and leading by example
Typically requires a 8 proven years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, as well qualified by experience
