The Chief Administrative Officer is responsible for executive leadership and oversight of laboratory operations management, regulatory compliance, strategic development and technology security and development.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide executive oversight, guidance and support for:
Laboratory Operations
Quality Management,, Regulatory Compliance
Information Technology and Security Management
Strategic Development, Process Improvement, Business Systems
Using sound judgment, make appropriate recommendations and implement changes in operations in order to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness.
Ensure prioritization of and alignment of key organizational projects to accomplish strategic short and long-term goals along with strategic planning development, tracking and measurement of outcomes.
Oversee development of strategic data reports to provide necessary information to operational departments in order to affect improvement efforts.
In conjunction with executive leadership, engage in continual monitoring and review of organization-wide goals & objectives for necessary changes needed to ensure continued high performance and growth.
Collaborate with senior leadership to design, recommend and implement strategy, plans, procedures and improvements.
Provide effective and timely communication to the Chief Executive Officer on all matters, including trends, pending initiatives and other matters impacting organizational operations.
Work collaboratively with the executive leadership to propose new systems and processes to streamline operations, manage organizational growth and track success metrics.
Implement and execute all organizational and administrative policy decisions set forth by the Board.
Maintain a current and up-to-date knowledge of legal aspects of the donation process
Provide executive leadership and direction to the quality improvement and regulatory compliance program strategies and by monitoring effectiveness, evaluating trends, and staying abreast of industry developments. Provide feedback to staff and Chief Executive Officer as needed to improve operations.
Assist Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer to formulate a budget for operational areas. Maintain expenditures of operations within the approved annual budget framework and explain any variances. With the Chief Financial Officer, verify and ensure all institutional invoices submitted are accurate and appropriate.
ORGANIZATIONAL REPRESENTATION AND DEVELOPMENT
Communication and media functions with staff, Board, and external sources.
Significant travel responsibilities.
Ensure organizational compliance with UNOS, AOPO, and other external agencies.
Involvement with organizational promotion.
Oversight of annual budget preparation and fiscal effectiveness.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A bachelors degree in healthcare, business or technology required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum ten years experience in administration/healthcare senior leadership required.
Successful experience managing multi-level and cross-functional teams.
Ability to self-motivate and function autonomously.
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven leadership, motivation and organizational planning skills.
Flexible, adaptable and dependable.
Demonstrated ethical character attributes.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with MTN motor vehicle policy. Must have reliable personal automobile transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines. Must be able to travel within the service area by ground or air.
Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including some nights and weekends for meetings.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
Possess ability to operate telephones, computers and office equipment.
Ability to speak and communicate clearly in order to accurately convey information in person or by phone.
OSHA Category I– Minimal to no exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing assigned job duties. Bloodborne pathogens protection is not required.
Home internet and wireless phone access may be required.
