The CLAIMS SUPERVISOR is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the claims processing team. The Claims Supervisor evaluates and coordinates the workflow and activities of claims processors to meet the volume management target. The Claims Supervisor supports the call center on claims payment issues as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Processes claims and assists customers and servicers with claims questions.
Checks the final edit and prints claim checks.
Trains new employees and answers existing employees’ questions.
Reviews claims for allowing or rejecting payment.
Communicates necessary business information to Claims Manager or other staff members.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Provide direction and guidance to ensure consistent achievement of key performance metrics.
Achieve, measure, report and communicate goal attainment for assigned team.
Develops and maintains area specific records, reviews and interprets reports.
Ensure accurate and timely communication of issues to Manager.
Coach, mentor, and develop agent team for skills expansion and promotional opportunities.
Trains new employees and answers existing employees’ questions.
Responsible for hiring decisions and progressive performance of team members.
BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)
6+ year’s minimum experience (Required)
Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Required)
Experience with mainframe or cloud-based systems (Required)
Supervisory experience (Required for role with subordinates)

Proficient ability to solve functional problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Expert project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities.
