The person in this role will create competitive advantage by standardizing methods in all processes and then driving improvement in those processes through elimination of waste and improving capability. And be the leader for creating an army of problem solvers & change agents across the facility & ultimately the organization.Responsibilities: Lead the Continuous Improvement culture and activity of the entire facility.Create an environment where ALL employees want to participate in driving improvement.Establishe a future state vision for the site and leads us in that journey.Apply Lean, Six Sigma and problem solving to both the manufacturing and administrative environments.Lead the site to implement improvements in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Performance, Cost, and Culture.Drive Kaizen activities for the site. Including preparation, follow-up, and development of future Kaizen leaders.Manage all improvements happening at the site. (identification, reviews, tracking, impact, completion)Coordinate Continuous Improvement training for all the plant (i.e. 8 Waste, VSM, 5S+Safety, Problem Solving, etc).Identify and conduct key training needed to move the CI culture forward.Manage the plant Value Stream Maps and use them to drive future improvement activities across the plant.Work with suppliers & customers as identified on improvements in the extended value stream. (VA/VE)Work as a team across all plant departments (Maint, EHS, Engineering, Materials, etc.) to drive improvement.Mentor & coach project leaders in proper use and application of Lean, Six Sigma, & problem solving concepts.Ensure the site will deliver the targeted improvements & impact annually.Ensure improvements are aligned with the strategic direction for the organization and the site.Be a pillar for safety by driving improvement and sustainment of 5S+Safety for the site.Take personal ownership for their own safety and thesSafety of others.Promote & support the identification & implementation of improvements in Sustainability.The activities listed are essential, but not limiting. Other responsibilities as required.Teamwork: __Interacts with individuals with different backgrounds and cultures and is available on off-shifts as needed.Must be able to multi-task with other duties and projects.Actively follows and manages to our Process Based Leadership, Code of Conduct and our 5S+Safety Program.Ability to travel up to 20% to support all locations (MI, KY, & Mexico) and customers / suppliers as needed.What a candidate must have to be qualified for the role: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Certification preferred3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment with hands on implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and Problem Solving toolsStrong teamwork to engage and motivate all employeesAnalytical ability to assess and resolve technical problemsExcellent communication and people skillsProven experience in leading teams and getting results through othersAbility to travel domestically & internationally to support all sites, customers, & suppliersAt Brazeway, it’s about more than what we get done – it’s about how we do it.
