POSITION SUMMARY:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Quality, the Sepsis Coordinator is responsible for identifying; knowing the patients at the unit/microsystem level, interprofessional communication to meet patients’ needs, and lateral integration of care. Accountable for patient safety and quality outcomes for a narrowly focused patient population of sepsis. Assimilates and applies research-based information to design, implement, and evaluate patient care with a point of care focus.

Qualifications
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Certification /Licensure
Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
RN with current licensure or RN with temporary permit to practice from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. If temporary license must be able to obtain permanent RN Licensure within 30-days of hire.
Current National Certification in area of expertise (CEN, CNRN, CCRN, etc.) preferred.
Current BLS/ACLS certification required.
Experience and Training
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in critical care required.
Minimum of 3-5 years healthcare experience required.
Broad knowledge and familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of database systems.
Possesses strong analytical and process improvement skills.
Special Qualification
Demonstration of effective frontline leadership and strong communication skills, both oral and written, as well as organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong critical thinking abilities as well as process and outcomes analysis.
Excellent interpersonal skills with physicians, administrative and leadership staff.
Knowledge of Computer skills/software required (i.e. Microsoft Office -Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact peer/peer with other medical professionals.
