We are looking for a driven Corporate Safety Director to oversee our comprehensive and successful Corporate Safety Program for all locations.Essential Job DutiesSafety Management Systems and TrainingDirect a comprehensive Safety Program in compliance with 29 CFR 1926, Construction Safety and 29 CFR 1910, General Industry and ManufacturingProgram Director for all aspects of Construction Safety Compliance to include Hazard Communication Standard, Materials Management Program, Personal Protective Equipment Program, Respiratory Protection Program, and Silica Exposure ProgramProgram Director for Comprehensive Safety Training Program to include Blood Borne Pathogen Standard, Fall Protection Instruction, Hazard Communication Instruction, New Employee Safety Orientation, OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Hour Outreach Training, and Silica TrainingProvide field observations and suggestions regarding the Corporate Safety Program and related safety regulationsAssist project superintendents and project managers in the development of Job Specific Safety Plans.Create, manage and Implement Job Hazard Analysis/Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA’s) in compliance with EM385 requirementsImplement Safety Inspection Program with software support and integrationManage all monthly safety meetings, organize all Toolbox Talk literature, and oversee accountability systems for all officesSupport safety incentive and safety awards programsRisk Management and Loss ReductionsProvide field observations and suggestions regarding opportunities to prevent injuries and accidents, improve safety performance, and lower insurance costsManage Corporate Risk Management activities including General Liability, Automotive, and Workers’ Compensation InsurersManage all claims from accident investigations, care and return-to-work resolutionProvide direction for safety program activities for Incident Management, Tracking, Root Cause, Corrective Action, Preventative Action and Follow Up ActivitiesOversee record keeping requirements for accident investigation reports, OSHA 300, 300A and 301 logs, Workers’ Compensation reports and all others as neededSafety OversightProvide assistance, immediate input, advice and direction to resolve and mitigate potentially hazardous conditions and assure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements (e.g., signs, permits, postings, etc.)Assist in OSHA inspectionsAssure that safety files and logs are accurately maintainedSupervise the implementation of Safety Data Sheet’s (SDS’s) and the related communication programAssist with the annual respiratory protection program documentation and fit testing duties as neededRequired ExperienceThis position requires previous experience working within the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, USACE EM385-1-1 Safety & Health Standards, and other federal, state, local or special customer regulations that govern building construction and safety requirements. Must have the knowledge and know the details related to construction and occupational health and safety.Required EducationHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.Preferred EducationA degree in Safety and Health or related field is preferredPreferred QualificationsHighly recommended to have successfully completed OSHA 510 and OSHA 500Highly recommended to have Competent Person Training (CPT) in fall protection, confined space, scaffolding, excavation and SilicaHaving one of the following safety and health related credentials is preferred: STSC, CHST, OHST, ASP, GSP, CSP or similarHercules Fence is a successful and diversified leader in our industry.
