Job Description : Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Data Analyst II to support the Defense & Veterans Center for Integrative Pain Management (DVCIPM) located at Brook Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, TX. HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic support services to DVCIPM. U.S. Citizenship or proof of naturalization required.The incumbent will provide analytic support to epidemiologists, biostatisticians and scientists. Ensures data quality and data integrity. Conducts statistical analyses.NOTE: As a U.S. Government contractor, all HJF employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. Proof of vaccination or an approved religious or medical accommodation will be required.Responsibilities: Imports, cleans, transforms, validates and/or model data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision making and public health purposes. (30%)Assists in making data accessible to epidemiologists, scientists, physicians, programmers and other end users. (10%)Tests data to identify data integrity issues, making recommendations and coordinating with the data manager to plan solutions. (10%)Troubleshoots problems concerning database records and communicate with co-workers and end users of the system. Makes recommendations and coordinates with the data manager to plan solutions. (10%)Recommends operating methods to improve processing, distribution, data flow, collection and database editing procedures. (10%)Participates in data-related projects, including but not limited to data normalization, data maintenance, data research, data standardization, data product development, data quality assurance, and dissemination of findings. (30%)May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and application of data cleaning, migration, organization, and analytic approaches. Demonstrated analytical skills and passion for analyzing data. Experience with data modelling and common analytic software programs. SQL and R skills strongly preferred. The position may require an ability to learn new programming languages or software systems on-the-job. Openness to learning and applying knowledge regarding health equity and disparities. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias. Ability to investigate data issues and participate in remediation activities. Statistical and data analysis skills are a must to assist gathering and solving data quality issues. Ability to review detailed documents to validate data in operating systems. Experience in writing dissemination materials.Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, healthcare informatics, statistics, research methods, public health, and other health-related disciplines with a strong analytic focus required. Master’s preferred.Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required for this position.Work Environment: This job takes place in a typical office setting.Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule preferred, however we are open to remote workers.Background/Security: Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Tier I investigation/Public Trust and a Common Access Card (CAC).Employment with HJF is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, contacting your professional references, verification of previous employment, addresses, education, and credentials, a criminal background check, drug screening, and a department of motor vehicle (DMV) check.
