For more information about the organization, please visit our website at www.charlottemaxwell.org.Charlotte Maxwell Clinic is rebuilding and expanding its in-clinic and telehealth services and is in search of a Development and Communications Manager to ensure our continued viability to meet the integrative care needs of existing and new clientele.About the Position: The Development and Communications Manager (DCM) is responsible for providing critical fundraising, donor and database management, and communications and event support for the organization. It’s role is to lead the creation of efficient mechanisms for the consistent achievement of the organization’s business development objectives and financial goals. The DCM works with the Executive Director, staff and board committees to develop and implement CMC’s annual fundraising plan and coordinate communications to promote programs, community connection and fund development. This includes applying best practices for stewarding existing relationships and growing individual, foundation, and corporate giving. The ideal candidate is a professional with a strong business development background and networking experience along with demonstrated ability to raise funds that increase organizational capacity to serve more people. This person is a storyteller and relationship manager, educating the CMC community about our mission, program, and impact that we have on our clients and their families. The position reports to the Executive Director.Duties Include: Fund DevelopmentEstablish annual case for funding, fundraising goals, and plans for achieving them.Develop and execute seasonal fundraising campaigns through direct mail and digital appeals.Assist and coach board members in participating in fundraising activities, including donor solicitations.Cultivate, maintain and grow individual and corporate donor engagement; ensure robust and timely donor appreciation.Manage all aspects of CMC’s donor management system, including data entry, analysis, and reporting.CommunicationsDevelop and implement a communications plan to create board, community and donor awareness and engagementReview social media analytics and trends and strategize to increase social engagement and donations.Plan, coordinate, design and post social media content to optimize our public presence.Produce regular newsletters, an annual report, email blasts and other donor and promotional communications.Manage content and maintenance of CMC website.Ensure communications materials are updated and accessible and maintain brand identity.Maintain/update email and direct mail mailing lists.Coordinate and support community outreach for client referrals and volunteer recruitment and engagement.Create/update donor and community facing communication pieces which includes gathering stories, video, and photos of CMC clients, staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders.Manage relationships with consultants/vendors, including graphic designers, web developer, and printers.Write and distribute media alerts, press releases, articles, to increase visibility; serve as point person for media requests, supporting the Executive Director and others as media spokespeople.Event ManagementOrganize and implement activities to increase the number of donors and their level of giving.Support, plan, and manage all fundraising events including the creation of timelines, goals, budget, and action plans.Work with staff, committees, and volunteers to ensure that CMC events are successful from getting sponsorships to registration to execution.Oversee all event logistics and post-event evaluation and follow up.Supervise, train, and coordinate event volunteers.Required Qualifications & Attributes: Passionate about CMC’s mission and health equity for underserved women.Familiarity with integrative medicine desired.Ability to provide good customer service and deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of constituents including staff, program participants, board members and donors.Proactive and able to work independently and adapt to evolving priorities and timelines.Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proactively identifies and creatively solves problems.Flexible, dependable, and has a good sense of humor.Ability to meet deadlines and report updates in a timely manner to the Executive Director.Ability to lift 20 pounds.Occasional evenings/weekends for meetings and select events may be required.Ability to handle donor-related and financial matters with discretion.Bilingual in Cantonese a plus.Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Creative Writing, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field.3 years of experience in fundraising, event planning, communications, marketing, copywriting, or other relevant experience.Computer proficiency and familiarity with Google Workspace, MS Office/Outlook, 8×8, and Constant Contact.Experience in graphic design, video editing and website maintenance.High proficiency in digital communications (social media, emails, etc.)Previous experience with Salesforce, Flipcause or similar donor database system a plus (training available)Compensation & Benefits: This job may be performed remotely. This position is 32 hours/week non-exempt and requires occasional meetings in the clinic. Salary is $37/hour.
