Opportunity
The Project Leader – Digital Transformation will play a key role in the review of current Power Systems Engineering processes as well as the development, implementation and testing of any new processes, software, and innovation to further support digital transformation. This person is responsible for ensuring that Regional and Global Engineering projects and key strategic initiatives incorporate change management, streamlined communication, and standardized training plans.
The Project Leader will also be accountable for the Product Lifecycle Management system within the Engineering group. This includes governing change management best practices globally, along with the ability to efficiently navigate the Product Data and Lifecycle Management system. The Project Leader will also focus efforts on the digital transformation market trends to support strategic priorities. Additionally, emphasis on identifying and implementing process improvements that will enhance and accelerate the product release process.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the creation of an environment of positive energy and can energize others, in which the associates have the courage to make tough decisions and encourage others to take accountability.
Motivate teams and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role as that of a change agent, coach, and support resource/mentor.
Ensure that consistent policies, processes, and practices related to Engineering digital transformation are employed across Engineering projects, process improvements, and innovation.
Informally lead process improvement teams along with confidently interface with and make recommendations to senior management.
Demonstrate an ability to take accountability and hold others accountable.
Build and manage high quality strategy and methodology to keep pace with the company’s growth and philosophy in the digital transformation and product data management space.
Communicate effectively to senior management, peers, and associates.
Ability to drive problem resolution, innovative thinking & change management across multiple functions.
Establish and support a framework for streamlined Global Engineering product release, digital transformation, and communication to be used for Global Power Systems projects and key strategic initiatives.
Incorporate actionable deliverables for process and software innovation along with effective implementation of change. Provide effective support and motivation to individuals and teams to embrace transformation.
Act as the change management lead on major projects as assigned, utilizing the ADKAR change management model, business processes, and globally aligned software.
Responsible for the delivery, facilitation, design, development, and implementation of content to support digital transformation and product data management.
Create and/or edit change management toolkits, training materials, communications, and resources to help project adoption by associates.
Partner with global cross-functional teams to identify unique business/regional needs while balancing the overall purpose and business requirements of the identified project.
Continuously research, evaluate, and utilize digital transformation initiative suitable for the Kohler work environment and culture.
Maintain and improve a culture of innovative and streamlined global systems, processes, and standards to further expedite new product development.
Work with global teams to incorporate the “voice of the customer”, creating an efficient process for expediting quality product to the market.
Coordinate with Global Engineering Team Leads to ensure new products are released using standards that exceed customer requirements and respond to partner’s needs to build up value-added systems.
Foster innovation and assist in the development of the global technology roadmap to support the development and standardization of digital transformation, processes and technology that supports the company’s long- range business plans.
Utilize offshore and outsourcing resources for greater efficiency and economy.
Create documentation and other self-study materials such as job aids and user guides.
Skills/Requirements
Associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
Minimum of (5) years project leadership or digital transformation experience in relevant fields including successful implementation of processes and software
Proven “hands-on” informal team leadership track record along with reliable communication, organization, and mentoring skills
Practical working knowledge of generic or dedicated Change Management tools, PLM, PDM
Practical working knowledge of dedicated digital transformation initiatives
