The Data Center of Excellence Department has an opening for a Senior Manager, Data Product Management, Customer Data Products. This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona, Dallas, Texas, Boise, Idaho, Or Pleasanton, California.
Position Purpose
The Data Center of Excellence has an opening for a Senior Manager, Data Product Management. This position will report into the Senior Director, Data Capability and Solution Lead, Customer and Market Intelligence. As a newly formed Center of Excellence, we will leverage our rich data around the customer, our stores, and the marketplace to create new data products, analytic tools and capabilities supporting company goal to delight our customers with rich and relevant experiences, in-store and digitally.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to define and implement our connected customer database while solving challenges in managing significant and disparate amounts of customer and transaction data to create valuable insights and results for business stakeholders. The candidate should be hands-on, highly technical, and data oriented with demonstrable experience as a Product Manager.
As the Product Manager for Customer Data Products, the candidate will partner with stakeholders across various business units to deliver solutions that acquire, unify, and make customer data available on our Enterprise Data Platforms. The candidate will work in close partnership with Data engineering teams, drive and execute our roadmap.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the product owner for the Customer Data Products and own the roadmap, communicate product priorities, timeless to stakeholders
Document and prioritize business requirements by working closely with business stakeholders, analytics, data science, and data engineering teams
Maintain backlog of new data product development, enhancements, and on-going support
Gain thorough understanding of existing data capabilities while challenging and improving our future data capabilities/products
Drive ideation and ensure that data solutions enrich and future proof our data capabilities
Ensure all data solutions are built to be accretive to our data strategy associated with engagement across our services to include – Loyalty Program Engagement, App and Email engagement, subscriptions, and partnerships.
Ensure product requirements are well understood by the data engineering team and solutions are delivered with highest quality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent education/work experience required
8+ years of experience in product management; including at least 5 years with building and delivering successful data products, solutions, and capabilities.
Prior experience in delivering customer centric data products is highly desirable
Thorough understanding of BigData ecosystem, data warehousing architecture and comfortable querying and working with large datasets using SQL
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills combined with strong business acumen; grocery and/or retail experience is a plus
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, Teams)
Team player with strong ability to align and motivate partner teams to achieve shared objectives
Strong communication and presentation skills
