Position Summary Oversee the administrative infrastructure for graduate programs at the Daniels College of Business, involving curricular support, academic standards, class and classroom scheduling, student life and satisfaction, orientation planning and execution, and other responsibilities related to academic program and service administration. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is necessary and the individual should be well versed in standard industry concepts, practices and procedures. Essential Functions Provide strategic leadership and operational management to develop and implement a comprehensive student experience portfolio that focuses on sustained, positive results in retaining and graduating an academically strong and diverse student body in alignment with Daniels goals. Lead a team of graduate academic advisors in support of academic progress for Daniels graduate students. Promote the student experience through advocacy and academic support, diversity and inclusion education, leadership, development, and mentoring that provides opportunities for intentional student engagement. Build and foster collaborative relationships with other Daniels operational teams (Career, External Relations, Marketing, Executive Education), and with programmatic teams (MBA Programs, for example) to enhance Daniels culture and enhance student success to enhance learning inside and outside the classroom. Work closely with the office of Graduate Admissions to develop and implement student transition and retention programs. Review and analyze retention and matriculation data to assist with evaluating programs, policies, and processes related to all student populations. Provide direction and leadership to major student programming initiatives in the College, such as Orientation, experiential learning, and involvement with the greater DU community. Lead students in developing and implementing innovative, engaging programming to encourage a thriving student community on campus. Lead the development and implementation of meaningful and inspiring student traditions. Work collaboratively with Alumni Relations, Career Services, and others to plan significant events to impact the student experience. Work collaboratively with Graduate Admissions, Student Life, Alumni Relations, Corporate Relations, and Career Services to deliver an impactful and meaningful welcome and orientation experience. Work closely with student organizations to enhance offering to facilitate a stronger sense of community. Establish and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and campus partners. Stay abreast of current trends and best practices related to student life and leadership programming. Create, implement and manage Daniels Signature events with the cooperation of the student life team, student groups, academic units and Daniels staff. Establish feedback mechanism for students to provide relevant and immediate input to overall experience. Inspire trust, instill confidence and demonstrate integrity, accountability, and fiscal responsibility to achieve goals. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational, planning, and program development abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Leadership ability to collaborate with departments and units across campus. Demonstrated ability to work in teams. High cross-cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence. Strong systems and processing knowledge. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs; familiar with SCT Banner. Ability to create, plan and execute flawless student life initiatives to build community and maintain a high level of student satisfaction. May work occasional evenings and weekends as related to Orientation and College events. Required Qualifications Masters degree in business or higher education associated discipline, OR an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Three years of experience in higher education academic administration with managerial or supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in business or higher education associated discipline. Five years of experience in higher education academic administration, preferably at the graduate level. Track record of excellent persuasive communication. Proven record of strategic planning. Experience as a team leader in student services or admissions role in higher education. In-depth industry knowledge. Proficient in Banner. Proven record of development and deployment of innovative and effective student satisfaction efforts based on industry best practices. Salary Grade Number: The salary grade for the position is 12. Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $76,000 – $86,000. The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
