Please check out more at https://nccareers.gilead.com/ The Director , IT PDM and R&D is accountable for developing business-enabling technology solutions, including analytics, that support Research, Development specific capabilities and needs (from Research to Clinical Drug Development). This role applies a structured business solution architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the business unit, in collaboration with our business engagement leaders, within the context of the enterprise. Maintains expertise in the direction of the business functions in partnership with business engagement, to identify challenges and associated plans to advance business capabilities. Effective partnership and teamwork with business partners, their IT teams and all other Gilead IT service teams is a key success factor. Essential Duties and Job Functions: This role will be accountable for, but not limited to, the following key responsibilities: Business Partnership In collaboration with Business Engagement Leads, develop and sustain effective relationships and partnerships with key Supply Chain and Manufacturing stakeholders, providing insights and advice on opportunities to leverage technology for business outcomes, and pulling in key stakeholders into solution discussions and plans as appropriate. Business Analysis Develop deep and broad Manufacturing or Supply chain business area, functional and domain knowledge to enhance IT’s business knowledge base Ensure effective consultation with business partners in exploring and applying innovative outside-in solution ideas to address business opportunities and challenges Perform matrix leadership and hold accountability for business gap analysis, process mapping and requirement gathering and definition Portfolio and Delivery Planning Partner effectively with the Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) in prioritizing business-specific demand as part of portfolio planning for projects Develop and maintain a three-year roadmap strategy with key business leaders/ stakeholders Participate in annual and off-cycle project intake and planning Work with IT Shared Services Information Management, Content Management, Workflow Management, Infrastructure, and Quality) to ensure interfaces and integration points are fully planned and coordinated properly Solution Architecture and Design Ensure the proper architecture and design of business-enabling solutions that are consistent with the Gilead IT Architecture Review Board (ARB) standards, principles and design guidelines Partner effectively with other Solution Delivery IT leaders to identify potential shared platform solutions that can be leveraged across other business areas to minimize redundant solutions Develop business enablement & solution roadmaps Partner with enterprise architecture to conceptualize solution architectures adhering to Architecture Directions and Standards while addressing business strategies, business capability requirements, business processes Contributes to enterprise architecture by modeling and mapping business processes, capabilities and enterprise information Perform process development and mapping Build and maintain an integrated view of the system landscape to support future business intelligence and analytics Solution Development and Support Solve for business capability gaps, support development of business cases and weave solution execution plans into technology roadmaps, with appropriate linkages to other/related systems and areas Ensure that all Business IT Roadmaps are developed in compliance with Gilead’s Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) standards & processes and Quality, Security and Compliance (QSC) rules and policies Provide input to the enterprise architecture to guide the enterprise toward a target state as it relates to supported line of business Serve as a change agent to drive process and system capability improvements across Supply Chain and Manufacturing, partnering with IT Cross-Functional Teams including Infrastructure Services, Quality, ePMO & Architecture, and Information Management Drive efficiency gains and quality improvements General Leadership and Management Ensure effective leadership, teamwork and collaboration with other IT peers across IT to achieve a unified and responsive IT services approach to the Business Lead continuous improvements to drive IT effectiveness with the Business and IT Basic Qualifications: Associate’s Degree and Fourteen Years Experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and Twelve Years Experience OR Master’s Degree and Ten Years Experience OR PhD and Eight Years Experience Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of work experience in IT Business engagement, enterprise architecture and/or solution development Demonstrated ability in applying advanced technologies to large and/or complex business problems Working knowledge of database tools, query optimization & basic analytics Working knowledge of applied IT architecture in the effective design of business-enabling solutions Experience working in Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry, a big plus Solid understanding of IT governance, inspection, compliance and regulatory requirements for validated systems Proven organizational savvy in working across organizational boundaries and reporting lines – ability to work in a matrix environment is needed Demonstrated discipline, analytical skills, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Independent, self-motivated, self-managing, proactive and responsive with a bias for action and results Demonstrates Gilead’s core values of Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork and Integrity Good
