Airgas has an excellent opportunity available for a Director, Learning & Development located at the corporate office in Radnor, PA! The Director, Learning & Development will report to the VP Talent ManagementDevelopment. This innovative leader will be responsible for designing and delivering an end-to-end learning strategy that supports associate and leadership development for all levels of the organization and is aligned to the business needs and Airgas culture. Airgas needs a multi-faceted leader who can provide leadership in a decentralized and matrixed business. To be effective, the Director, Learning & Development will listen and partner with business leaders, HR Business Partners, IDE, the Talent Development Leadership team and other HR partners to effectively develop and deliver a comprehensive learning plan for the organization that will enhance performance towards Airgas business objectives. To be successful, the leader will ensure that solutions consider the associate experience and build the capabilities needed for the future. The Director Learning & Development will organize, structure and market learning opportunities so that learners are able to easily identify and consume them when, where and how they are ready to learn. Part of success will be to measure learning impacts from adoption, efficiency, satisfaction, to impact the businesses across Airgas. In this role, the Director Learning & Development will need to determine the right blend of core and customized learning experiences to ensure business needs are met and compliant with all applicable laws and associates have the skills to enhance performance of the organization. In particular, you will: Build, lead and develop a team of learning professionals to develop innovative learning solutions for all leaders that tie to our values, culture, and leadership expectations. Develop a multi-year and nearterm roadmap for associate and leadership development, from aspiring to senior leaders, that is supported by key partners. Partner with Group L&D CoE on learning and development initiatives for executives. Partnering with business leaders and HR Business to create development opportunities for all levels of the organization – from front line associates to leaders. Implement learning best practices and innovative, creative learning strategies. Prioritize learning efforts and effectively allocate resources across all businesses and corporate functional teams. Fuel a culture of continuous learning on the team and among our partners by keeping an active pulse on external trends and bringing them back to the team. Motivate the team to high performance while caring for well-being and balance as a role model and a tone-setter for the team. Advance the organization’s mission around inclusion, diversity and belonging through leading practices in hiring, team building, and infusing these concepts throughout learning experiences, including ensuring learning and development opportunities exist for underrepresented groups. Ensures consistency in the delivery and application of the training standards across the business and oversees the planning, prioritization, and development of new training programs and initiatives, ensuring that these programs and initiatives are consistent with the overall business strategies, objectives and needs and compliant with all applicable laws. Partner on learning experiences and the change management efforts to support them. Create sustainable, well managed teams, programs and processes by applying disciplines in simplicity and scalability. Develop key relationships across the organization that build trust and credibility in the delivered learning solutions. Implement communication and marketing plans to ensure key audiences are well informed and can easily access learning offerings and programs. Bring a problem-solving mindset and be confident in challenging approaches and presenting ideas in a constructive way. Develops, implements, monitors, and maintains both initial and ongoing training programs across the business. Develops a dashboard reporting for all levels in the business (KPIs). Partners with external vendors. Qualifications Are you a MATCH? Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related degree field required. Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Psychology, Learning and Development or Organizational Design/Effectiveness preferred. 10+ years of learning leadership experience in a matrixed/complex organization At least 5+ years of instructional design or adult learning experience design. At least 7+ years of experience in people leadership Knowledge of adult learning best practices. Ability to influence business and functional leaders and HR Business Partners in a matrixed organization. Understanding of in-person, remote/virtual and eLearning trends and best practices. Demonstrated ability to use data and analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills to drive outcomes. Strong written and verbal communication, including facilitation and presentation skills with audiences of varying levels. Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to tie business outcomes to learning impact. Proven consulting experience with the ability to translate business needs and priorities into deliverable learning objectives. Has an external network of contacts and thought leaders. Demonstrated inclusive leadership both in leading teams and incorporating IDE principles into learning design. Knowledge of multimodal methods of training delivery, learning platforms and evaluation. Strong analytical and planning skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables across groups. Ideal candidates must be approachable, inspiring trust which will encourage confidence and trust when providing directives.
