Job Type Full-time Campus Syracuse, NY Unionized Position Code Not Applicable Job Description This position supports the Senior Associate Dean of Academic and Faculty Affairs and leads the Academic Affairs team, which is responsible for supporting the academic programs and Program Directors, including scheduling, assessment, supporting program revisions and the launch of new programs. Primary activities of the Director of Academic Affairs include: providing team leadership, staff development, influencing the operations and strategy of academic affairs, collaborating with other units within the iSchool and across campus. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Job Specific Qualifications MS Office, Outlook, MS Teams, knowledge of Curriculog is a plus Responsibilities Academic Affairs administration and operations: Executes new initiatives and projects as established by iSchool and SU leadership Proposes strategies and processes for new and ongoing initiatives and programs Reviews existing processes for effectiveness and quality degree programs and instruction Participates in routine meetings with iSchool leadership Collaboration and negotiation across units: Coordinates and negotiates with other relevant units in the iSchool and across campus on academic affairs-related projects Coordinates and negotiates with relevant units at other universities on academic affairs-related project Coordinates and facilitates potential and ongoing partnerships with education, curriculum, and technology vendors Supervision: Supervises Academic Affairs staff Appoints responsibilities for initiatives among the Academic Affairs team Coaches Academic Affairs staff by providing timely and relevant feedback on work performed Curriculum Development Participates in planning for new program initiatives, coordinates with relevant stakeholders, and establishes processes and supervision of staff who are executing new program initiatives Participates in planning of major program revisions and course revisions, coordinates with stakeholders, and supervises staff who are executing revisions Program Director Support: Collaborates with Program Directors on strategic planning Organizes new initiatives and ongoing projects of Program Directors Physical Requirements Tools/Equipment Application Instructions In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.
