It is critical that our internal equity and inclusion work is prioritized as an agency before we integrate DEI solutions and strategies into our client work. In order to do this responsibly, we need a progressive, compelling, and influential Marketing/DEI professional to join our agency. We are immediately seeking a Director of Equity and Inclusion to lead our external and internal DEI growth.
Work with leadership team to establish strategic planning process and alignment for the company’s commitment to equity and inclusion
Support the recruiting team in identifying talent pools that ensure underrepresented groups are intentionally identified and recruited for open positions
Team with the Director of People & Culture on necessary crisis communication and responding to employee/client conflict related to identity
Develop, create, and facilitate organizational professional development plan for internal training
Collaborate with the Director of People & Culture to enhance benefits offerings, and ensure accessible and inclusive practices are utilized and prioritized throughout the organization
Support and lead the audit and restructuring of creative strategies and client relationship development
Work with our account, creative, and strategy teams (really every nook and cranny of the agency) to drive DEI strategy and representation
Be a support to client teams during brief and ICR process
Understand, respond to, and integrate existing DEI frameworks from clients
Integrate equity and inclusion into every part of agency decision making and train leadership/employees on how to do so as well
Send out company communications around DEI learning opportunities, important holidays/historical moments, identity-based months/days of importance, etc.
Collaborate with local, national, and international DEI companies/groups for additional training, support, or partnership if/when needed
Work with the internal affinity/action group(s) to ensure alignment, communication, and relationship between employees and leadership
Other duties as assigned and as the role evolves
5+ years of leading equity and inclusion organizational development internally
5+ years of marketing or agency experience
2+ years of supporting external partner growth in DEI
Bachelor’s degree (or commensurate experience)
Demonstrated understanding of intersecting and interacting identities, social/historical context of oppression, and obvious commitment to growth and innovation
Experience advocating for a multitude of underrepresented identities including but not limited to: racial identity, ethinic identity, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability status, socioeconomic status, national origin, and access to education
Exceptional communication skills, particularly when it comes to facilitating conversations related to equity and inclusion
A deep understanding of historical trauma and how it shows up in identity development, socialization, and the marketing industry
Public speaking experience
Curriculum development experience with a history of accomplishing learning objectives and changing/enhancing behavior
Excellent written communication skills
A desire to work for a local/international agency at a time of intense growth and commitment to change
