Job Description : | POSITION TITLE: Director of Operation and Finance REPORTS TO: President CLASSIFICATION: : Part-time or Full-time DURATION: 3-4 days/week COMPENSATION: tbd DATE POSTED: February 2022 Summary: Preservation Arts is seeking a Director of Operations and Finance – someone who would be excited to tackle operational challenges — in operations, finances, human resources, technology, marketing and legal — right from the get-go. This person would take ownership of infrastructure issues and get involved in creating the organization and systems to scale the business up to the next level and will have room to grow. Reports to the President of the company. Part-time or Full-time position 3-4 days per week with benefits. Company Overview: Preservation Arts is a profitable fine arts conservation company expert in the conservation and preservation of paintings, objects, outdoor sculpture and works on paper. In order to provide the most complete conservation experience, Preservation Arts offers a full suite of services including collection management, registration, inventory management, exhibition preparation, installation, archival framing, artist consultation, commission acquisition, pest mitigation, disaster recovery, fine art storage and transportation. Located in an historic building in Oakland, CA, Preservation Arts provides best-in-class service to the greater San Francisco Bay area as well as the entire west coast and has many clients worldwide including Los Angeles, New York and Paris. Founded in 2013 by Rowan Geiger, Preservation Arts has grown to 14 employees and has an impressive and extensive list of clients that range from private collectors, museums, public art collections, galleries, institutional and corporate collections. Qualifications: Experience managing operations and growing a service company to the next level. Knowledge of the Arts industry is a big plus. Ability to assess the financial state of the business and work collaboratively with the owner and senior management team to provide strategic planning for the next 5 years to create and prioritize the greatest value opportunities for the business. Ability to analyze the operational state of the company and recommend/implement policies, procedures and systems to smoothly and successfully grow Preservation Arts into the best-in-class conservation studio in the country. Masters of Business Administration Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work with other key managers in helping develop and implement a long-term growth strategy. Day-to-day oversight of Finance, Operations, Facilities, IT, HR, Marketing, Risk Management and Legal Manage the Office Manager who currently provides all the day-to-day administration of bookkeeping/accounting, invoicing, expense management, payroll, social media, marketing, purchasing, assists senior management and manages day to day operations of the studio.
