The Director, Product Management is the subject matter expert and keeper of a product or family of products through a successful lifecycle. This position can be located in the following area(s): San Diego, New York
Interface directly with clients, prospects, and the Client Development teams to identify key market needs, opportunities and pain-points related to the competitive landscape to support product strategy recommendations
Hold a deep understanding of client needs, satisfaction, and what they place value in, advocating for the voice of the customer
Identify and forecast industry and consumer trends, especially through behavior
Product Strategy and Revenue Growth
Develop, execute, and align the product vision and supporting strategies internally and externally
Drive product portfolio pipeline planning throughout the product lifecycle(s)
Set and contribute to the financial success of the Product P&L for sustained and scalable growth
Product Discovery and Roadmap Management
Develop product framework across sector(s) and ensure execution of fundamental concepts including product/market fit, product tests, client discovery process, and product operations
Oversee product requirements, capabilities, and enhancements
Engage with clients and conduct discovery sessions related to product road mapping, new products, enhancements, upsells, and data change.
Identify new product opportunities which create customer value and enable revenue growth
Create and prioritize product requirements, translating the needs across clients into specs for product capability
Work with technology and implementation teams to deliver award winning UI/UX solutions
Lead strategies for sales enablement, go-to-market and customer facing Tools and deliverables
Determine product pricing and packaging strategies and rate cards in partnership with Commercial and FP&A team
Scale syndicated products for market opportunities both up and down stream
Creating Engaging and Driving High-Performing Teams
Collaborate with Product leadership and cross-functional leadership to ensure team goals and responsibilities are clearly defined
Build team culture by engagement and development to strengthen performance and drive goals
Lead the example of cross-functional relationships in a high EQ culture
7-15 years of product management experience, developing new products, business plans and product requirements in areas such as market research/information, B2B or B2C Products, Consumer Packaged Goods, Large Scale Insights including Brand Management, and Service Sectors
Bachelor of Arts/Science or above; Master’s Degree desired
Strong product management experience working with data/information preferably in syndicated and/or custom research; Experience in building data/digital products; Experience working with consumer/longitudinal data a plus
Experience leading and developing high performing teams across global geographies in a customer-centric, profit driven environment
Prior experience developing consumer facing delivery tools/apps/dashboards etc.
Able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences; Ability to represent the product in client-facing situations, whether in a pre-sales support capacity, a problem-solving setting due to client dissatisfaction, or conducting a feedback session
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a project portfolio
Adept in use of strategic product life cycle practices such as market/client assessment, competitive benchmarking, product health, etc.
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
Proven ability to analyze customer needs and goals to assist in generating thoughtful creative product proposals that exceed customer expectations and expand revenue opportunities
Skilled in translating client needs/priorities into product requirements; Understands product components and manages the process of development, deployment, and post-launch activity
Ability to represent the user experience of his/her products; Ability to conduct a product demonstration highlighting the most important applications of the data.
