Job Area: Engineering Services Group, Engineering Services Group > Program Management General Summary GENERAL SUMMARY: Develops, defines, and executes plans of record, including: schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables, and risks. Monitors and drives the program from initiation through delivery, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders across functions on technical matters, as needed. Monitors budget/spending, on-time delivery, and achievement of program milestones. Represents the program and drives alignment across stakeholders. Identifies areas of leverage with the broader team as well as particular focus areas specific to Automotive Modules. The responsibilities of this role include: Working independently with no supervision.Making decisions that are significant in impact, influencing overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to meet objectives; errors are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results; errors typically result in significant expenditure of time, resources, and funds to correct.Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Role may require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.Some financial accountability (e.g., manages a small budget, has input into P&L).Having a great degree of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is making or directly making key decisions that have substantial impact on the organization).Completing tasks that require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; tasks require simultaneously executing multiple cognitive abilities and maintaining information in short- or long-term memory.Regularly determines what needs to be done and is involved with sharing innovative solutions to achieve broad policies and objectives. Willingness to challenge the status quo and drive new best practices where required.Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required.Develops, redesigns organizational strategies and provides overall direction for various functional areas and/or entire organization. Has influence over the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans and objectives.Works closely with customers and able to manage customer facing programs. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Applies project management strategies to review and translate high-level requirements into program goals and prioritized deliverables, coordinates business processes (e.g., project change management, communication), and drives decisions necessary for program delivery by partnering with program sponsors.Manages and takes responsibility for multiple large programs/technology varying from moderate to complex by applying up-to-date and innovative program management best practices. Able to identify needed changes to existing processes and practices to accommodate board level module programs.Develops, guides, manages the execution of, and reviews program Plan of Record (e.g., on time, on budget, within scope) for large programs; this includes schedule and resource forecasting, stakeholder identification, method and frequency of communication, scope, and prioritization.Establishes key program metrics and manages team to take action outside their comfort zone to ensure program success when metrics deviate from Plan of Record.Identifies and secures resources to ensure alignment of team with program/technology demand for multiple large sized programs with varying complexity.Makes recommendations, implements risk management strategies, and reviews risk mitigation plans for multiple large programs based on knowledge of appropriate strategies.Reviews and validates business cases in partnership with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, finance, engineering) based on a thorough understanding of internal and external influences, and assists in determining program needs.Ensures a cross-functional focus on reducing both product cost and OPEX.Establishes and advances a clear vision of a program as well as the goals and objectives to the team, presents program vision to executive leadership, and gains buy-in from stakeholders.Executes implementation of defined policies and procedures to drive process improvement in the internal Program Management team. Physical RequirementsFrequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelors – Computer Science, Bachelors – Engineering Work Experiences: 8+ years Program Management or related work experience. 5+ years working with operating budgets, resources, and/or project financials. Certifications: Skills: Preferred Qualifications Education: Masters – Business Administration/Management, Masters – Computer Science, Masters – Engineering Work Experiences: 4+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization. ,3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above) ,4+ years experience with program management tools such as dashboards, Gantt charts, etc. ,15+ years Program Management experience or related work experience.
