SUMMARY OF POSITION: Oversee the operation of the Asset Management department to meet operational goals and needs. Maximize equipment utilization through reporting and controls to monitor performance. Work with Operations and Maintenance teams to determine equipment needs. Sell, turn in, or reallocate unneeded equipment as necessary.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to: § Coordinate new tractor delivery and tractors due for trade in. Plan for future tractor delivery and trade tractor scheduling.§ Manage tractor assignments for both new and used tractors.§ Ensure 100% of all available drivers seated through daily proactive communication with the Operations, Recruiting, and Maintenance departments for equipment and Driver availability.§ Assist with Setting up drop lots as needed for Operations Group.§ Aggressively monitor equipment downtime. Proactively communicate with OTR and shops to turn equipment as quickly as possible.§ Monitor mileage on lease equipment to ensure tractors and trailers are turned in and components removed based off assigned goals.§ Manage recovery of abandoned equipment to assigned goals.§ Provide weekly and monthly reporting to key stakeholders focused on utilization and cost.Note: These are the major functions and accountabilities required of the position and are the predominant criteria by which performance will be assessed. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES: § 3-5 years related experience, preferred§ Knowledge of trucking operations is essential to this function§ Knowledge of internal databases (TMW, TMT)§ PC proficient, including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, required§ Strong problem-solving capabilities.
