Job Description : TITLE: Executive Director STATUS: ExemptREPORTS TO: Board of DirectorsAn exciting opportunity to lead the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County is open, and we are looking for our next Executive Director to make a positive impact on kids’ lives. The BGCIRC is headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida and operates three clubs in Vero Beach, Sebastian and Fellsmere. We’re seeking candidates who will lead the overall planning and operation of the organization – while providing leadership, direction, and support to the Board of Directors. You will be responsible for bringing the organization’s mission to life, as you work to ensure that area kids and teens achieve great futures by delivering a safe and fun space, creating an engaging Club experience, and managing caring professionals to guide them along the way.Primary Functions: To ensure that we provide a safe, welcoming and effective place where children can begin to realize their full potential.To manage the strategic planning and operation of the Club, in support of organizational mission and goals.To collaborate with the Board of Directors in developing organizational goals, attaining/allocating resources, and establishing policies.To provide direction to staff in carrying out the key roles assigned to them.Key Roles: LeadershipEnsuring the effective operation and delivery of programs within the Club and community by: o Supporting the organizations mission and principles, o Maintaining an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes, o Implementing programs, services and activities that support youth development outcomes, o Establishing and monitoring adherence to policies and procedures.Strategic PlanningImplementing a strategic planning process that results in the development and implementation of a quality strategic plan.Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and implement plans for improvement.Board DevelopmentAssist Board in identifying, recruiting and on-Boarding effective Board members.Ensuring active participation by Board members and supporting effective Board roles and functioning.Ensure Board committees are provided with the information and support necessary to fulfill their objectives.Take Board minutes and track key Board metrics such as attendance and committees.Resource DevelopmentEnsuring the annual budget is funded and the organization has adequate cash flow. Develop, implement and monitor the Club’s annual budget.Developing strategic plans to generate revenues through a variety of sources, in light of decreased grant funding. Identify, cultivate and solicit donors.Oversee planning and implementation of special events.Researching and writing all grant applications; collecting data and writing mandatory quarterly performance reports such as CSAC, United Way, DOE, and DJJ.Providing guidance to staff and volunteers performing resource development functions.Resource ManagementOverseeing Club operations and programs with primary concern for program development and implementation, staff development, supervision of assigned staff, facilities, and budget management.Implementing administrative and operational systems to support effective operations. Creating tracking tools to facilitate uniform data collections in the Clubs.Ensuring productive and effective staff performance, providing guidance, feedback and opportunities for professional development.Managing administrative and operational processes; overseeing the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and other facilities.Assisting in maintaining up to date information in the crisis manual, employee and parent handbooks.Partnership DevelopmentDeveloping strategic alliances with community leaders and local officials. Developing collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families, funders and community organizations.Increasing visibility of club programs, services and activities and maintaining good public relations.Serving as Executive Director to the Foundation Board, taking minutes, and executing plans for the planned giving program.Serving as liaison to Boys & Girls Clubs of America and implementing initiatives in the Clubs, such as National Youth Outcomes Initiative and Formula for Impact.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.A minimum of three years experience in managing programs or operations in a non-profit agency or Boys and Girls Club; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Thorough knowledge of: the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; the principles and practices of managing non-profit organizations; and resource development activities and sources of funding.Demonstrated ability to plan and implement effective operations.Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, decision making.Strong communication skills, both oral and written;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, community groups, and other related agencies.Basic knowledge of asset management including financial resources and property.Microsoft SuiteDonor tracking systems such DonorPerfect a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: $85,000.00 – $100,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayWeekend availabilityEducation:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:nonprofit management: 3 years (Required)Work Location: Multiple Locations
