Job Description : | Executive Director Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Executive Director executes the Foundation’s strategic plans in accordance with its mission at the direction of the Board.Development: Maintain contact with all major donors at least annually.Contact donors throughout the year as donations reach one year point (seek to renew support).Develop relationships with potential donors. Utilize board members to make introductions and float ideas.Marketing/Communications: Send out paper newsletters 2x/year (approximately April and Sept)Send out MailChimp eNewsletters as news comes upPost to Facebook and Twitter regularly (original content as well as share CPD information)Meet with local leaders throughout the year, including members of City Council, City Manager’s office, and other non-profit partners.Administrative: Send out thank you notes to donors at the end of each monthUpdate “Supporters” tab on CPF website monthlyCommunicate with stakeholders on CPF stationery as neededRead local news to keep abreast of issuesLook out for potential new board members to suggest to steering committee. Meet with potential new board member candidates and make recommendations to the board.Maintain eTapestry database information for all donors, stakeholders, and partnersMaintain Mail Chimp database for all “audiences”Review all invoices and bills. Either pay or ask Treasurer to send in payment. Oversee budget.Meet with ACPF ED occasionally. Collaborate on projects when appropriate.Work with CPF Council to engage their wisdom and interest in ways that benefit the CPF mission. Plan 2 events with them per year. Look out for new members.Board management: Update “Board Members Only” page after board meetings and whenever information changesUpdate all website information and regularly used documents when board members roll on or offReview committee assignments at the beginning of each year, and throughout the year as neededReach out to committee leads at the start of the year to see about a planning meeting with entire committee (and Chief or Captain as appropriate).Work on Operating Plan for each year through committee meetings. Try to have it voted on and in place by the end of Q1.Send out regular update emails to board to ensure they are engaged and informed. Check in with board members individually regularly.Program specific regular tasks: For all programs, consider requests received from the CPD and facilitate discussion and decision on funding or participation from the board.Recruiting & Retention:Set up Academy Graduation Dinners (usually 2x/year)Facilitate awards for Officer of the Month ProgramFacilitate special events/treats for National Police Week (usually mid-May)Housing:Respond to officer requests about program. Update “Housing Pipeline” document as needed.Work with lenders and closing agents for officers approved for grant. Work with Treasurer to wire funds before closing. Execute housing agreement with notary and officer prior to closing.Work with existing and recruit potential Housing Affiliate Partners. Communicate changes to CPDOutreach:Create and collaborate on all programming for community engagement events with CPD. Pre-Covid events include Cops 4 Kids Day, Ice Cream with a Cop, Charlottesville Night Out, Community Police Academies, Santa Van, 100 Conversations, etc.Work with CPD Liaison on the topics for the new monthly Lunch and Learn series. Work with the presenters, market, facilitate presentation and oversee all elements of the series.Appreciation Dinner:Work with Appreciation Dinner committee, Chief, and dinner venue to pick date for Appreciation Dinner early in the year. Following planning document and work closely with committee lead.CPD Relationship ManagementDevelopment working relationship with Command Staff to keep an open line of communication regarding current needs at CPD.Attend roll call meetings periodically and develop relationships with the rank and file when possible.Job Type: Part-timePay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per yearSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Work Location: Remote |
