The ED is a fervent leader committed to enacting meaningful change in Oklahoma’s criminal justice system. The ED is a visionary equally adept at articulating bold ideas and translating those ideas into actionable strategies grounded in data and lived experience. The ED is a self-aware, influential leader among Oklahoma’s diverse criminal justice reform community, capable of building trust among stakeholders having a range of ideologies, lived experiences and networks.Reporting to OCJR’s Board, the ED is accountable for the overall leadership and effectiveness of the OCJR organization, ensuring the right resources, strategies, infrastructure, and workplace culture are in place to successfully support OCJR’s mission. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and facilitation skills; a proactive, collaborative and data-guided management style; and experience leading teams to create change and achieve ambitious results.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Oversee and implement the strategic direction of OCJR: Define, implement, and continuously improve the structure, processes, resources, and culture of the organization to build a sustainable operating model for OCJR’s mission and successful execution of the organization’s strategic plan.Translate OCJR’s strategic plan to annual operating plans, activities, and objectives; clearly define expectations, resources, and accountability; and oversees implementation and measurement of progress.Effectively lead and manage to optimize operational effectiveness, create a high functioning team and maximize community engagement and impact.Strengthen organizational policies, procedures, and accountability to ensure OCJR lives its mission, earns a reputation for high standards and researches and utilizes best practices.Be a role model internally and externally for the organizational values, inspiring staff, volunteers, coalition partners, policy makers, and other stakeholders to engage actively in creating positive change in our criminal legal system and for our communities.Manage organizational advancement, budget and complex stakeholders: Effectively develop and ensure budget and funding strategies are aligned with OCJR’s strategic plan and outcomes.Cultivate relationships with existing and new philanthropic funders to sustain and grow their support for OCJR and its priorities.Ensure compliance to regulatory and company policies as well as grant/funding requirements and commitments.Establish and maintain productive working relationships with key influencers, policymakers, stakeholders, state and national partners, and coalition members – all having different ideologies and perspectives.Position and maintain reputation of the organization as the leader and trusted policy authority in Oklahoma’s criminal justice reform movement.Provide consistent, transparent, and diligent reporting to, collaboration with, and engagement of OCJR’s Board of Directors.Build and lead a highly-effective team: Successfully manage a team of professionals, including Policy Counsel, Statewide EngagementDirector, Digital Communications, and Office Manager.Attract, develop, and retain high level talent and expertise needed to achieve OCJR goals and objectives.Establish and cultivate a positive and uplifting workplace culture that is defined by its core values emphasizing engagement, collaboration, inclusion, and trust.Ensure OCJR has effective public relations strategies that utilizes all expertise and appropriate resources within OCJR; actively participate in events, panels and speaking engagements; and proactively engage in policy discussions with legislators, government officials, community leaders, and criminal legal system stakeholders.Work closely in collaboration with OCJR research partners, volunteers and analysts to research, consolidate, and share relevant information to impact change.Qualifications Education & Preferred Experience Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
