Job Opening for Facilities Manager in Atlanta Classical Academy (3260 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30305)

Atlanta Classical Academy seeks a full-time Facilities Manager. The Facilities Manager oversees and maintains the operation of the school plant on Atlanta Classical Academy’s Atlanta campus. This position will report to the Director of Operations.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Handyman for small repairs and projects
Oversee all facilities-related vendors, including landscaping, custodial services, and other maintenance and repair providers as needed
Ensure all required safety inspections and preventative maintenance are up to date
The Facilities Manager is responsible for a nearly $100,000 maintenance and repair budget, plus manages occasional projects ranging from $10k to $1 million+
Start and assist with carpool and other shared school-wide duties

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
Five years of related work experience required, or experience as a general contractor
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace apps required
Other job requirements:
Ability to lift heavy objects
Occasional evening availability for special school events
By its nature, this role requires a “jack of all trades” who is handy with most any minor construction project or repair, and unfazed by the request to clean up minor disasters, accidents, and mishaps.
Attention to detail, organization, willingness to jump in to help, and not being afraid to “get your hands dirty” are a must.

About Atlanta Classical Academy:

Atlanta Classical Academy is an open-enrollment, public charter school open to students who reside within the Atlanta Public Schools district. The school opened in 2014 with grades K – 8, and has added a grade each year as students have advanced. It is now a K – 12 academy.
