Job Description : FOOD SERVICE DIRECTORPurpose Statement: The FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR position was established for the purpose of supporting children’s learning through overseeing the daily operations of the District’s food service program. Additionally, this position has direct responsibility for day to day operations of the high school kitchen providing lunch to three schools. Job functions include administering, planning, directing, assessing, implementing, and evaluating the District’s nutrition program. The nutrition program is to provide an environment that supports healthy food habits while maintaining program integrity and customer satisfaction.Reports to: SuperintendentSupervises: All other food service workersEssential Functions: Drafts and implements operating budget; performs reasonable predictive forecast of expected meal services based on staff, student,and/or other applicable head countsPlans menus that conform to state and federal regulations and provides nutritional and appetizing foodsImplements efficient management techniques to ensure all record and supporting documentation are maintained in accordance with local, state and federal laws and policiesOrganizes the hiring/interview process for new department members and supervises assigned employees.
