Job Description : | Choice Hotel BrandThe General Manager is responsible for continually focusing on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction and developing employees, while maintaining the integrity of the hotel.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsures compliance with management company and franchise standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, and room ratesDelivers outstanding guest service and financial performanceDelegates authority and assigns responsibility to all employees; supervises work activities of all employeesEnsure staff receives proper training for each position, including safety training and standard operating proceduresAllocates funds, authorizes expenditures, and assists departmental managers in budget planningMonitors cost controls for each department on a regular basisInspects guests’ rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearanceAnswers patrons’ complaints and resolves problems to maintain Guest SatisfactionHandles and resolves employee issuesConducts annual wage scale surveys and ensures employee wages follow wage and salary guidelinesAdheres to all franchise and company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating proceduresEnsures bank deposits are made daily, including weekends and holidaysEnsures employee paperwork, work schedules and payroll are completed and submitted in a timely mannerAudits daily reports and processes monthly reportsOrder supplies and equipment as needed and in accordance with company proceduresMust be in close proximity so available to manage hotel situations/emergenciesRequired Skills and ExperienceA minimum of three years’ experience as a hotel General Manager is preferable.Ideal candidate will have a sound background in sales, operations, yield management, financial reporting and delegation.This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader looking for a quality, team-oriented, profitable property.Highly energetic and motivated individualMust have strong leadership skillsAssociates degree or higher level of education preferredExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essentialSelf-Starter with ability to work independently and as a teamStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent written communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environmentAbility to shift and manage multiple prioritiesResults driven focus and ability to work through to completion in a timely mannerAdaptable to changeKnowledgeable with PMS systems to include Choice AdvantageChoice brand knowledge preferredStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include, but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Microsoft OutlookHigh level of flexibility regarding overtime during times busy periods as required by the businessJob Type: Full-timeJob Type: Full-timeExperience:supervisory: 3 years (Preferred)general manager: 3 years (PreferredJob Type: Full-timePay: $35,600.00 – $55,000.00 per yearBenefits:Employee discountHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWeekend availabilityWork Location: One location |
