Currently we are recruiting for an experienced Human Resource Manager to join the Polaris team.
OVERVIEW
The Human Resource manager is responsible for providing guidance with recruitment, with a thorough understanding of HR policy and procedures. The bulk of the role will involve employee orientations, benefits administration, compensation, rewards, and conflict resolution, but there is great opportunity for developing and refining systems. We are eager to find an HR manager who easily connects with people and has a detail-oriented mindset to handle the changing nature of the workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits and Insurance Administration
Administer company health benefits plan which include medical, dental, vision, GAP, disability, life insurance, workers compensation, and employment claims; conduct new hire orientation ensuring that all paperwork is completed, and employees are informed of benefits options and waiting period
Comply with COBRA notification and correspondence
Manage workers compensation and unemployment claims
Audit employee health benefits
Serve as a liaison between health benefits broker and company
Assist with open enrollment ensuring attendance of all employees.
Onboarding
Ensure all new hires complete background and drug screening process and verify I9.
Conducts new hire orientation of company, policies, compliance and benefits.
Employee Relations
Assists departments with personnel/payroll related inquiries; advises and assists on current departmental HR procedures related to employee records; coordinate employee engagement activities and act as liaison between departments and staff.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to employees and managers; creates performance management documentation of such.
Assists with the effective and thorough investigations of employee complaints and employee relations issues.
Assists in the development of employee reward and recognition efforts.
Assists in the preparation and review of all employees corrective counseling documentation.
Manages unemployment compensation (UC) claims, representing the Company at UC hearings.
Manage annual review process, ensuring that performance reviews and merit increases are scheduled in a timely manner.
Provide support to managers on implementing coaching and/or disciplinary actions when necessary.
Policies and Procedures
Update employee handbook, code of conduct policies as Senior Management sees fit
Ensure company policies are kept up to date with changes in company
Facilitate termination process; paperwork and procedure; participate in termination meetings; complete termination checklist
Create and maintain employee file system (personnel, benefits, and payroll files); ensuring that all employee files are complete and kept up to date
Track and record employee information including hire dates, compensation, FLSA status
Manage annual review process, ensuring that performance reviews and merit increases are scheduled in a timely manner.
Provide support to managers on implementing coaching and/or disciplinary actions when necessary.
Complies with federal, multi state, and local legal and regulatory requirements by studying existing and new legislation; advises management on needed actions.
Payroll
Oversee the payroll processes administered by the Payroll administrator.
Skills and Qualifications
Be willing to travel to Tampa, FL, Michigan, Minnesota and other states.

Maintains high level of confidentiality
Knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to state and federal labor laws.
Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, FMLA, Disability and Workers Compensation
Foundational understanding of payroll and benefits.
Able to interview and walk candidates and hiring managers through the talent acquisition process
Able to handle employee relations issues and conduct investigations
Able to manage multiple assignments and prioritize activities.
Enthusiastic/positive person with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player.
Organization and detail orientation with excellent follow through.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day

HOLIDAY & PTO POLICY
We provide qualifying full-time employees with 23 PTO (Paid Time Off) days annually. PTO is used for holidays, vacation, sick leave, and personal leave.
Please note we are a long-term care pharmacy open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. And schedules may change as determined by the needs of the business.
