Job Description : | Job SummaryThe Sr. Director of IT Operations and Development is responsible for identifying and implementing process and system improvements, operational audit support and diversification strategies for the Company’s business systems.The Sr. Director assists in determining tactical and strategic directions in the support of business systems and operations as well as financial management of corporate resources to support Accounts Receivable Management (ARM) and Business Partner Operations (BPO). This includes, but is not limited to, collection system software development, collection system software administration, system performance, ensuring SDLC, and analysis of business processes.The position provides leadership, supervision, planning, organizational controls, and coordinates the activities of the team’s core disciplines and areas of responsibilities. The Sr. Director provides expertise in the delivery of services by providing technology, best practices, and methodology guidance.The Sr. Director works closely with business unit management to establish priorities and plans to ensure their critical needs are met over both the short and long term. The Sr. Director supervises the activities of the team disciplines which can include analysis, design, coding, testing, building/configuration, deployment, audit and support of application programs, functions, services, and/or other related components in support of a major application, solution, project, or strategy.The Sr. Director directs research and monitors trends for application development processes/methodologies, architectures, and platforms. Control’s development and installation processes to ensure high quality implementations which meet business expectations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and demonstrate the principles of the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values.Act as liaison between business partners, clients, and the IT Department to create, develop, and implement solutions.Ensure team follows company policies, procedures, and change control process guidelines to meet GLBA, FDCPA, FCRA, regulatory requirements and HIPAA, GLBA, FISMA, PCI DSS and other data security standards.Provide guidance to new technology initiatives resulting in increased productivity and reduced costs.Assist in preparing department financial budgets and strategic plans. Monitor activity reports and financial statements to identify trends; take a proactive approach working with department VP or other sr. leadership to ensure financial objectives and strategic plans are met.Collaborate with teams in Information Technology and business partners to fulfill service desk requests assigned to the area.Develop strategies and systems focusing on eliminating risk associated with new systems initiatives and/or changes to existing systems which could impact the production environment.Communicate department goals and objectives to all staff and inform senior management of developments and upcoming initiatives.Assist with department audit projects; make project-level judgments around objectives and scope.Draft written department report to management these include department KPI and stating findings and recommendations in regard to systems, processes, internal controls and other appropriate matters.Obtain necessary data for operational audits, design and execute standalone data analytics to support audit findings and business requests. Identify, develop and maintain continuous auditing/monitoring activities.Present as needed audit objectives, scope, and results to senior members of management, clearly articulating the potential impact of control gaps as it relates to the department.The role will require a knowledge of audit procedures and testing including performing audit walkthrough and process documentation, key control identification, test plan preparation/implementation, process control testing.Advise business partners on problems, plans, and activities and recommend policies and procedures that enhance the operation of the department. Maintain and increase the efficiency of operations through the reduction of outages, the implementation of more effective controls, and the timely resolution of outstanding technology issues.Ensure department associates comply with policies and procedures as required.May lead an outsourced team to ensure that commitments are delivered on-time and on-budget.Ensures quality and controls are in place, managing escalations, developing solutions, and aligning resources. Ensures solid stakeholder management.Areas of Accountability include: Provide leadership and manages the work activities of direct reports.Manage, participate in, and provide support for departmental, division, or enterprise projects in support of project objectives and deadlines.Provide management oversight and stewardship for systems and applications.Partner with customers to deliver effective systems and applications.Ensure change management and quality assurance practices are understood, adhered to, and leveraged to enhance system health and quality. Provide change management responsibilities for supported systems.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.Bachelor’s degree is desirable. Equivalent combination of education and (+4 years) work experience may be substituted for educational requirement.5+ years of experience in application operations, architecture design and deployment, systems life cycle management, and experience successfully managing staff on a results-driven team preferred.3+ years of experience successfully managing relationships with end user clients preferred.3+ years project management experience including best practice processes and techniques, and comprehensive insight into concepts, tools and processes used for estimating, tracking, managing, and reporting work.Certificates, Licenses: Project Management or Software Development Certifications is preferred.Experience5+ years of progressively responsible audit experience with significant experience in internal audit in a management role.Advanced application of data analytics techniques and tools in a complex business environment, including the application of general statistical concepts against large volumes of data.Collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information, and drawing logical conclusions.Data access, analysis, and visualization tools, such as SQL, Excel, Access, SAP, and Microsoft BI.Experience in collections or related profession required. Experience with student loan collections preferred.Demonstrated experience working with Technology using Critical and Analytical Thinking.KnowledgeKnowledge of collection practicesFamiliar with IT functionsBroad knowledge of development methodologies and techniques. Agile methodologies, including Kanban, Scrum, and DevOps preferredHigh aptitude for problem solving, analyzing data, and interpreting contractual agreements.Highly organized, able to work independently, motivated to successfully meet deadlines, detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to multi-task.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically proficient in Excel.Display a high level of professionalism, integrity, and maturity.FACS, Artiva (Ontario Systems) and Collection Operations knowledge preferred.Skills and AbilitiesAnalytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Good time management and organizational skills.Exceptional oral and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize work.Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background checkClearanceAs a federal contractor, this position requires U.S. citizenship and security clearance granting access to classified information.
