We are looking for a Lead Pharmacy Refill Technician for the Rx Refill Department at Providence Medical Foundation.
Location: Anaheim, CA
Work Schedule: Full time – 80 Biweekly Hours
Shift: 8-hour, Days
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Manger and/or Director, the Lead Pharmacy Refill Technician is responsible for supporting the patients, providers, and pharmacies. This position will act as a resource for the department for complex issues and problem resolution in relation to filling prescriptions. This position will lead a team of several Rx Refill Agents and Technicians.
Essential Functions:
Interacts effectively with management, makes recommendations for staffing needs and offers input and support to facilitate site operations
Identifies strengths and areas for improvement in work flows to site management
Contributes to staff evaluations / disciplinary actions in coordination with management
Maintains a clean, functional work environment to include housekeeping, quality control and log maintenance and accurate supply par levels
Maintains current knowledge of all equipment maintenance
Attends and participates in all mandatory nursing/business department meetings/in-services and is an Active participation in staff meetings, in-services, and assigned committees, may be asked to lead or co-chair meetings and/or committees
Orders supplies for the refill department, stocks and maintains orderly work area
Utilizing authorized physician protocol to process prescription refill requests in a timely manner and documents into EMR system
Responsible for processing prior authorizations
Conducts patient and pharmacy callbacks in a time efficient manner while maintaining proper phone etiquette
Completes tasks in AEMR
Assists in training other pharmacy refill clerks
Maintains current knowledge of medications and drug classifications.
Skills:
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Windows.
Strong knowledge of medications and drug classifications.
High level of customer services skills with a genuine caring approach to helping people.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude with changing conditions.
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrates dependability.
Strong written and verbal communications skills to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work under general supervision.
Ability to maintain a professional and mature demeanor.
Ability to work in a fast-paced department and handle multiple tasks, work with interruptions, and deal effectively with confidential information.
Minimum Position Requirements:
Education: Graduate of a vocational school.
Experience: 4 years Pharmacy technician experience with strong familiarity with medications and drug classifications.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current valid Pharmacy Technician license from the state of California.
Current CPR card.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Experience:
5 years Pharmacy technician experience with strong familiarity with medications and drug classifications.
AEMR experience.
IDX experience.
