Job Description : | IMMEDIATE OPENINGSCertified Pool Operator or be able to obtain a license within 6 months of hire.General Experience required in drywall, plumbing and electrical.Functions as the Strategic Leader of the hotel’s Engineering department of 4 hotels in the Sheridan, Wyoming area. The position has overall responsibility for each building’s maintenance and protection, grounds landscaping and maintenance, guest and associate satisfaction, and the financial performance of the department. Position oversees the development and implementation of departmental strategies and ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. The position ensures engineering operations meets the brand’s target customer needs, ensures associate satisfaction, and maximizes the financial performance of the department. Ensures long-term asset protection, assist in effectively managing capital expenditures to maximize the return on investment.Responsibilities:Ensure the hotel’s maintenance and upkeep standards meet each Hotel’s , Brand, and Guest standardsProactively follow specific departmental procedures in performing repair, maintenance, alteration, and installation work in a safe and neat mannerComply with the latest insurance, local county, state and federal government codes, laws, and requirementsDetermine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, take necessary corrective action, and record same following specific departmental proceduresHave knowledge of property, staff, and services with hours of operationCarry out all reasonable requests by managementInitiate training of new department associates on equipment and the daily functions of the hotelDelegate or coordinate shift staff dutiesResponsible for identifying and scheduling repairing all mechanical failure to include repair of appliances, HVAC, electrical or plumbing; follow through of procedures on equipment maintenance where applicable as directed by managementResponsible for operating various hand and power tools in a safe mannerFollow safe working practices and conditions within your departmentFunction as a member of the emergency organization team become an expert on life safety systemBe aware of fire, safety, and protection equipment/hazardsResponsible for completion of preventive maintenance programs on guest rooms and equipmentMaintain positive public relations and a pleasant attitude with all guests and associatesEnsure all potential safety hazards are correctedDelegate, supervise, and participate in all preventive and general maintenance programs by maintaining a room’s maintenance strategy and scheduling preventive maintenanceMaintain tracking data check sheet and logsPlan and schedule corrective maintenance, and project workCoordinate the operation and maintenance of all interior and exterior structural fixtures and mechanical equipment to coincide with Brand standardsAssist in the coordination and supervision of all contracted capital projectsControl operating costsEnsure all guests’ complaints are handled with extreme courtesy and promptnessEnsure work assignments are completed with no reworkEnsure work assignments are completed with little to no supervisionFollow up is a must and pertinent information should be passed on consistently in pass down logs and on white boardsMaintain a clean and organized work area, and return tools to their proper placeEnsure department training, self-development, and running the department to its fullest potentialSurface issues of concern to General ManagerWork and communicate well with other departmentsActs as a technical liaison to all other departmentsEnsure service requests are followed up on and completed as describedReview and evaluate utility reports with input on energy conservationEnsure an adequate supply of spare parts in inventoryCoordinate preventative maintenance system according to SOP’sMonitor and perform test systems as necessary, be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systemsHave a working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systemsObserve energy and utilities usage in the resort and on the groundsLook for ways to conserve energy and report any ideas to the Engineering ManagementBe available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect our guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergencyAct as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating statusInform Management of any such emergenciesRead, log, track and interpret readings from meters, gauges and other measuring unitsMaintain a thorough log of each day’s activities and problems that occur and ensure this information is passed on to other shiftsAssist in preparing annual budgetsRespond to work orders and requests, and document all work in the defect logParticipate in a weekly property walk through and complete identified deficiencies within an appropriate timeFollow up on outstanding issuesTrain, motivate and develop property staffCommunicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisorsRemain flexible and responsive to scheduling needsCommunicate timely, clearly, and effectively to all stakeholdersOther information:SKILLSDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate and teach engineering best practices to hotel management and property operations staffCertified Pool Operator or able to be certified within six monthsLicenses or certifications in specific trade a plusAbility to effectively motivate and train existing and new employeesExcellent at managing priorities, heavy workloads, and substantial job related taskAbility to listen and to actively comprehend what others are sayingAbility to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, plans, and conclusionsPossess the ability to read and use blueprints, diagrams, operations manuals and manufacturer’s specificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalentProgressive experience in hospitality Engineering or Facility Management, with at least three years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer.Job Type: Full-timePay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hourBenefits:Employee discountPaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftHolidaysMonday to FridayWeekend availabilityWork Location: Multiple Locations |
