This project provides advisory, cost program planning, budgeting, and integration support to assigned activities and projects.The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, is excellent with information and numbers, is a master utilizing Excel and associated Microsoft products. In addition, you should have a strong desire and ability to join an established team, contribute to ongoing project tasks and briefings, and be willing to learn and understand our client’s needs as it relates to federal contracting, contracting parameters, and contracting vehicles. You’ll contribute to and support our existing team that assists our client in advising on the acquisition, contracting, program planning, budgeting, and integration support to assigned activities and projects. Finally, you’ll have direct interaction and coordination with client leadership, internal program team members, and key program stakeholders.The position provides project consulting support to assist the Government in managing contracts and budgets that support the mission.Core Job Responsibilities and Daily TasksAn Associate at Vergys is where consultants actively participate in multiple aspects of a project based on interests, skillsets, client needs, and firm opportunities. Core responsibilities include the following:Work closely with the project team and government personnel to prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical project documents (e.g., business needs assessments, risk management plans, alternatives analysis, cost-benefit analysis, acquisition plans)Collect and manipulate a variety of data to generate recommendations or conclusionsConduct primary research that supports client recommendationsSynthesize and summarize data, research, or communications (e.g., summary briefings and meeting minutes)Aid in translating stated requirements into recommended acquisition documents, including, but not limited to, performance-based statements of work.As required, provide draft documentation support in planning, developing, and staffing products such as senior-level briefings, correspondence, reports, databases, and websites.Review program and customer documentation for accuracy and completeness.Review program technical, cost, and schedule data to assess performance against program objectives.Develop and recommend courses of action (COA) briefs to support the procurement process.Independently apply experience and knowledge to various project and program initiatives: investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, or evaluate solutions for project and program contracting efforts; issue resolution and recommendation support to achieve desired program outcomes.Contribute to firm marketing and promotional effortsRequired Skills and Qualifications: Successful candidates should possess high professionalism, value quality, and demonstrate adaptability and strong initiative while meeting the following qualifications and requirements.Bachelor’s Degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics-related field and 3-5 years of professional experience, OR,Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration/Policy, or Masters in Information Management from an academically rigorous program and 1-3 years of professional experienceProficiency in Microsoft’s Office Tool Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), especially advanced skills in ExcelExcellent written and oral communication skills and experience developing and presenting complex information to Government officials.Strong quantitative skills and comfort working with, analyzing, and synthesizing budget and program data.Confidence, creativity, and a strong professional driveAbility to disseminate conversations into working points (e.g., meeting notes, action items, documentation)Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groupsWriting ability meets established standards for Order, Clarity, Conciseness, Style, and TerminologyDisciplined in time management to handle multiple projects and flexible work scheduleAbility to work individually and cooperatively in a team environment with a willingness to share knowledgeWork EnvironmentThis is a service-focused position in a professional service setting.
