Cell Therapy Raw Materials Logistics is responsible for the domestic and international transport, storage, and distribution of vector, plasmids, cell banks, and other critical raw materials between Contract Manufacturing Organizations, off-site storage providers and Cell Therapy manufacturing sites. The group is also responsible for import and export trade compliance to ensure the uninterrupted supply of material. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day logistics operations and execution in support of the manufacture, testing, and storage of critical raw materials across the globe. This is a cross-functional role partnering with internal (manufacturing, external manufacturing, supply chain, quality, etc.) and external (logistics service providers, contract manufacturing organizations, contract test labs, etc.) stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Operations: Joining a team of highly qualified materials supply chain logistic professionals, this individual will execute domestic and international shipments between sites across the Cell Therapy network including but not limited to scheduling, communication with stakeholders, and managing through final delivery. Provide expert knowledge to internal stakeholders on transportation related requirements of Hazardous materials, DOT and IATA regulations, and US Custom guidelines and regulations. Manage and maintain files of all inbound and outbound documentation in audit ready state and coordinate with internal customers in response to audits or other requests for information pertaining to logistics activities. Responsible for adhering to applicable processes and work instructions for alignment with all required global and site policies and procedures. Develop expert knowledge of the CAR-T supply chain and the temperature controls required to support various shipping temperatures including controlled room temperature, 2-8°C, -20°C, dry ice, and liquid nitrogen shipping requirements. Develop and monitor carrier and courier network to ensure low shipment failures and high visibility of performance. Work cohesively with cross-functional teams in support of operational efficiency, flexibility, and assurance of transportation availability. Lead process improvements by maintaining open communication with all teams and fostering an environment of cooperation in which to achieve shared goals. Support Cell Therapy Raw Materials Logistics Management Team on process and productivity improvement initiatives as identified. Ensure that all required training assigned through e-learning is completed in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Trade Compliance: Subject matter expert on all Site Import Administration related activities, issues, and questions. Execute Site Import Administration responsibilities: Facilitate communication with customs brokers to ensure that accurate documentation is provided to clear BMS imports in a timely manner with minimum delays and zero errors. Provide clearance information to the designated brokers, FDA and other government agencies for entries. Relay release information to operations to ensure that inbound shipments are not manipulated with or disbursed prior to FDA Release, as applicable. Maintain an Import Checklist to ensure that all entries are properly submitted to customs. Compile and upload entry packets to departmental SharePoint for audit availability. Ensure US customs compliance readiness for Cell Therapy Raw Materials Logistics: Maintain the Import Log for all entries and perform audit of the entry documents. Perform the Declared Value Confirmation of Import Value provided to customs. Ensure that the BMS Cell Therapy import process is always maintained in an audit ready state. Manage key account reconciliation activities for Cell Therapy raw materials, maintaining a value reconciliation tracker. Capture Cell Therapy Site Import Administration related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and relay them to the appropriate personnel on a weekly/monthly basis. Create and update the Cell Therapy Import Procedure, as needed. Support Cell Therapy Raw Materials Logistics Management Team on process and productivity improvement initiatives as identified. Ensure that all required training assigned through e-learning is completed in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant transportation and import/export experience. Experience with cold chain shipping preferred. Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude that is willing to assist other areas of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in planning, organizing, and innovation management. Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and maintain a focused attention to detail. Highly self-motivated individual, with demonstrated ability to work independently. Any equivalency combination of education, experience, and training may substitute.
