This Manager – Global Services Group Finance opportunity is a brand-new role focusing on data driven analytics and decision support for all Global Service Group LFOs. This role is expected to drive critical monthly analytics, improve business performance by utilizing data driven insights, and partner with colleagues across both finance and the business to influence change. This position will be critical for the operation and success of Global Services Group as well as American Express. To be successful, the candidate will need to collaborate with business partners to identify key analytics projects, improve visibility into monthly results, and drive operational efficiencies to the month end process This role will have exposure to senior leaders and will interact frequently with GSG Business and Business Unit CFO teams. Responsibilities: Build and maintain high-impact relationships with all Global Service Group LFOs. Collaborate with Finance and Business Partners to drive thoughtful analytics to support leadership decision making. Implement new tools and process improvements to enhance reporting, enable analysis, and drive automation Partnering with Business to develop recommendations, influence outcomes, and meet business objectives Presenting to Senior Leadership, including Business and Finance Perform analysis leveraging Finance and GSG analytical data in Cornerstone Create dashboards and presentations for senior leadership with the goal of sharing new and innovative analytics potential business opportunities and streamlined monthly results tracking Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of experience in Finance or a relevant Analytical role Manipulates large amounts of data and generates meaningful insights Continuously questions analysis to identify and correct inconsistencies Breaks down problems and applies appropriate techniques to solve Synthesizes data and articulates key messages in an easy-to-understand story Demonstrates thought leadership and deals effectively with ambiguity Makes decisions quickly and effectively Approaches challenges with an agile mindset Builds and leverages relationships to influence and drive results Effectively manages multiple priorities and tight deadlines Expertise in writing SQL Queries a plus Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with knowledge of Macros/VBA Experience with Hive, DBeaver, or other SQL-based database tools Experience with Oracle Smart View, IBM TM1 Planning Analytics, and Microsoft Power BI is preferred American Express is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, disability status, age, or any other status protected by law.
