Job Description : The New Jersey Hospital Association is a not-for-profit trade organization committed to delivering support and services to the state’s hospitals, health systems and other healthcare providers. We share a collective goal of improving the health of the people of New Jersey. We are seeking a Manager, Member Relations. Objective: Manages operations and provides customer support to members. Coordinates training and use of association databases to facilitate the maintenance of accurate information. Also responsible for managing the updating and development of reports to assure high quality, timely and effective communications with membership, community constituencies, public and staff. Manages outreach to members and other stakeholders for effective use of NJHA resources. Provides member feedback to NJHA leadership team for developing future resources. Equipment Used to Perform Essential Functions: computer, telephone, typewriter, xerox machine, fax. Essential Job Functions: Manages maintenance of Association Management Software (AMS) data including maintaining an up-to-date database of all membership and contacts at membership organizations, ensuring the continued accuracy of existing data, and coordinating with IT and other staff as necessary to ensure these goals. Monitors, responds and/or disseminates to appropriate staff, inquiries from membership including requests for member services via the members-only area and general public received via the member support telephone number and the online Contact Us email. Follows up to see if inquiries were addressed. Responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining membership portals on the AMS to provide a high-value experience to members utilizing the membership portals. Manages administrative function with regard to responding to requests for information/allocations for membership categories and coordinates process for Board endorsement. Disseminates packets to new/potential members. Coordinates and manages special membership events/projects. Identifies and plans high-value membership events. Manages activities of membership specialty work groups including meeting facilitation and list serve monitoring. Manages maintenance of member service-related promotional publications (i.e., Profile), oversees ongoing maintenance of NJHA Healthcare Directory and assists in development of membership services directory. Helps manage the recruitment and retention of membership. Develops and maintains a quarterly report or dashboard of member engagement/participation/payment as an early warning system for members at risk. Develops resources, with support of Communications and Design staff, to inform members of benefits and services available to them. Monitors the catalog of member publications, identifying resources in need of updates and managing the update process with appropriate staff. Identifies new membership prospects and maintaining a database of member prospects. Identifies membership marketing opportunities, strategies and tactics and engaging with appropriate staff to develop and implement them. Works with Communications team to identify ways to leverage social media for member value and engagement. Proactively identifies opportunities for NJHA to provide value and connectivity with members, including through events, sharing information, etc. Monitors trends and best practices in association member services and member management to identify potential opportunities at NJHA. Provides support to in-house staff with regard to membership inquiries, policies, procedures. Provides support to major NJHA membership events to ensure member value and recognition. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, marketing or communications preferred. Prior customer/member service, organizational, meeting facilitation and interpersonal relations skills required. Working knowledge of database environment and Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) essential.
