BBSI is looking for a Materials Supervisor for a growing medical device manufacturer in the area.The Materials Supervisor will schedule, coordinate, and supervise production controls, ensure stock is maintained within prescribed service levels, provide training and instruction to team members. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing policy and procedures, recommending safety and access best practice and evaluating product layout and flowEssential Functions/Duties: · Supervises, assigns duties and monitors quality of work of purchasing staff.· Assist with Purchasing, Planning, and Operations activities.· Assist in the effective management/planning of inventory and back-order levels.· Assist in instituting cost control strategies.· Trains and coordinates necessary training for purchasing and production staff as needed.· Assist in the development and implementation of solutions to problems potentially affecting the flow of material and support of customers.· Leads and coaches’ employees within area of responsibility to meet production goals and maintain morale.· Accountable for ensuring purchasing staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures, as well as to governmental regulations.· Analyze MRP Reports to determine future purchases.· Review and maintain technical specifications (MPS) for raw materials and components to ensure they are all in compliance with quality objectives.· Maintain material specifications for future procurement.· Confer with staff, users and vendors to monitor defective goods/services and facilitate corrective action process.· Ensure supply levels of critical parts/materials are maintained in accordance with company usage.· Negotiate terms of purchase and generate purchase agreements for direct materials to best suit the needs of the business.· Work with suppliers to identify and resolve issues, to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.· Plan and prioritize planning, purchasing and production operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.· Communicate with filling and packaging and plastics leadership regarding any inventory and planning issues.· Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies by interacting with team members and other departments.· Quarterly review of the Item Planning Master on Purchased and Manufactured Parts for accuracy.· Evaluating the settings in the ERP system for parts to ensure the settings remain accurate and update where necessary.· Prepares performance evaluations and measures improvement goals.Qualifications & Requirements · 5+ years successful experience in a materials management and/or purchasing position in a manufacturing facility.· Experience with ISO/FDA and GMP standards and in a medical diagnostics environment a plus.· Working knowledge of QAD, SAP, ERP or Great Plains software a plus.· Strong PC skills- Word, Excel, and other related software.· Initiative and drive – going beyond what is routine and assuming responsibility without being assigned.· APICS certification highly desirable but not a must· Supervision of department personnel.Benefits: · Medical, Dental, Vision· Long Term Disability, Life Insurance· 401K- Match· Vacation, Sick Pay, Holiday pay, PTOJob Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayApplication Question(s):What are your salary requirements?Experience:Manufacturing: 5 years (Preferred)Materials Management: 5 years (Preferred)ISO/FDA or GMP regulated environment: 1 year (Preferred)QAD, SAP, ERP or Great Plains software: 5 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
