Position: Marketing and Promotions Manager
Reports to: Associate Director of Marketing, Audience Acquisition & Growth
Classification: Regular full-time, Exempt with benefits
Job Purpose: This full-time position manages advertising schedules and deliverables, coordinates and executes promotions, and manages audience development projects.
Duties include participating in audience development strategy, campaign development, and media planning. Oversees ad production and trafficking, develops and manages media and promotional partnerships, and creates and implements advertising and promotions including artist appearances.
The marketing and promotions manager is also responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing marketing and audience development efforts.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with Associate Director of Marketing, Audience Acquisition & Growth to plan media campaigns; manages all media advertising schedules and negotiates rates and terms of added value promotions with media partners/sponsors, and manages all asset production and deliverables to media outlets including social media channels. Ensures that media plans are executed, and agreements fulfilled.
Manages audience development campaign and planning to meet both growth and revenue objectives. Manages audience development efforts through partnerships, special events, and offer-based programs targeting identified growth segments and constituents through combination of marketing efforts including direct response, advertising, grassroots, programs partnership development
Manages partnership programs and promotions to drive acquisitions of new target and niche audiences. Develops, manages, and implements event marketing initiatives including strategy development, event planning, and onsite management of events including but not limited to Nutcracker Family Performances, Nutcracker VIP Performances, date nights, and Nite Out.
Tracks department budget and participates in the budget development process. In conjunction with Associate Director of Marketing, Audience Acquisition & Growth, is responsible for managing department budget lines related to areas of responsibility including tracking and providing Finance with monthly projection updates. Maintains close communication with Director of Marketing and Associate Director of Marketing, Audience Acquisition & Growth about YTD expenses and redeployment of resources.
Manages direct mail and email related to audience development campaigns including coordination with internal staff as well as printers, outside mail houses, and list management vendors. In conjunction with the Associate Director of Marketing, Audience Acquisition & Growth, responsible for directing the graphic design team. Also responsible for all collateral are routed and that all edits and design comments are aggregated for the graphic designer. Provides quality control and ensures that information in all materials is correct and error-free.
Serves as the department liaison to manage and support SF Ballet School marketing and advertising strategies and campaigns.
Participates in departmental and organizational events, performances, and promotional appearances including some evenings and weekends.
Performs other duties as required or assigned by direct supervisor and department director.

Create and implement marketing and sales initiatives for new and existing patrons to ensure a continually expanding audience base, increased revenues and community awareness and participation.
Initiate collaborative audience development ventures with corporations, diverse arts and community organizations, educational institutions, and various media and retail partners.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS or BA in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing and/or advertising. Experience working in an arts related field preferred.
REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Lifting and transporting marketing supplies and materials up to 25 lbs.
