They will work with Suppliers, Procurement, Logistics, and the business to ensure timely delivery of inventory material utilized in the Supply Chain, monitor material usage and future requirements. They will maintain key supplier relationships in conjunction with Procurement; are aware of market and industry trends/conditions, delivery requirements, and other factors in the performance of duties. The Materials Management Expeditor is required to interface with Vendors (sales/project management personnel), internal clients (users), auditors, Procurement, etc. to achieve total overall value to the Company; thus, must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently.Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:Expedite orders when necessary to meet customer need dates; Follow expedited shipments to deliveryCommunicate estimated delivery dates, production delays and any other pertinent information to the business to ensure status is updated in a timely mannerResearch and analyze inventory consumption data, inventory levels, work order requirement(s), and outstanding delivery orders to gain a thorough knowledge of Materials Management processesEnsure end user requirements are satisfiedWork closely with warehouse personnel regarding specific aspects of the materials management role (i.e. stocking levels; jobsite deliveries; material changes/project timelines).Coordinate with Engineering Standards and Materials on any alternate material requestsWork closely with the Supply Chain Market Analyst to maintain current knowledge of industry supply chain issuesPeriodically review materials forecasts against actual demand (used and/or returned materials) and make recommendations or adjustments.Communicate forecast of project material requirements and timelines to contracted suppliersProvide recommendations for supply chain process considerations, and/or improvement.Ensure quality of sure and stable supply of materials; monitor timeliness of the deliveries/performance and identify patterns.Work closely with Asset Optimization and TxDOT to ensure Buy America Compliance on applicable projectsParticipate in user testing for system revisions and upgradesCollaborate with Procurement to hold suppliers accountable to contract terms.*Basic Qualifications: *A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Distribution, Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline.A minimum of three (3) years direct experience as a Materials Management Specialist with advanced proficiency in the Essential Duties/Responsibilities of that role.Job Location: Houston, TXThis contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR §§ 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a), and 60-741.5(a).
