Position Title: Mixing Supervisor Position Summary: Job Scope: To safely perform all aspects of manufacturing and lead associates to meet or exceed business objectives. This position must effectively manage the production requirements of the Hot Mixing, milling and extrusion operations and leads a small team of associates within the Hot Mixing area. Job Description: Essential Job Functions : Versatility to perform all needed manufacturing duties and any other tasks of equal or less difficulty. Provide leadership and coordination of staffing, OT, and scheduling. Complete all paperwork and/or data entry as needed. Drive and support business initiatives and change management Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner, drive Lean 5S Initiative throughout the facility with emphasis during shift transition. Provide leadership in the absence of department supervisors Interface with management concerning production issues. Able to work irregular shifts to cover leadership demand as required. Responsible for overseeing training regimen for direct reports. Receive and relay vital verbal communications with co-workers concerning daily production strategies. Mentor, coach, and provide performance feedback to direct reports and peers. Non-Essential Functions : Keep written and or electronic production records on every batch mixed. Knowledgeable of basic customer requirements and the equipment and materials used in the manufacture of custom silicones. Additional Details: Job Standards : Must be able to lead people and be team-oriented Must be able to stand for a 12-hour shift. Must be able to carry or lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively and push work-in-process which could exceed 50 lbs. Effective and safe operation of all mixing and extruding equipment requires the use of both hands. PC skills with experience with MS Office, SAP, Payroll Systems, and various other programs as necessary. Must be able to read, understand, and speak English. Must be qualified to wear a respirator. Education/Experience/Skills : Perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately, and possess eye-hand motor coordination. Basic writing skills are required in the completion of daily production records. Basic verbal communication skills are required to transfer or interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of two years Hot Mixing experience and past leadership/supervisory experience desired Minimum of two years of experience in a leadership role desired. Excellent communication skill required Equipment (Machines, devices, tools, personal protective equip) Mixers, Mills, Extruders, fork truck, hand tools, scales, bulk filler system, fluid transfer equipment, Clamp Truck, Drum Picker, Rotator truck, Ice Blaster, Baler, Trash compactor, thermometers, Dry ice machine, Fluid pumps. Vacu-Lift, strip cutter, Guillotine. Steel toe shoes, respirators, gloves, dust masks, eye protection, FRC, and any other necessary PPE equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Feeling, finger movement, hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations). Ability to operate a vehicle. The environment for this position is a manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions.
