Job Description : The Michigan State University and Hurley Children’s Hospital Pediatric Public Health Initiative (https://msuhurleypphi.org/), under the direction of Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, seeks to hire a Survey and Cohort Project Manager for the Flint Registry (https://www.flintregistry.org/) project. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-designated public health authority, the Flint Registry’s goal is to connect people who were impacted by the Flint Water Crisis to resources and programs that serve to minimize the effects of lead on their health while promoting wellness and recovery. As it relates to the implementation of the Flint Registry, the Survey and Cohort Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Flint Registry survey process, cohort maintenance activities, continuous improvement efforts, and organizational improvements. This includes managing survey and cohort activities, personnel, resources, and quality assurance initiatives to refine project requirements and metrics. This position will coordinate with Flint Registry leadership in the overall implementation of the Flint Registry, working closely and collaboratively with the Registry Director and Program Manager to ensure processes and deliverables are efficient and effective. The Survey and Cohort Project Manager will manage the survey team supervisors and cohort maintenance manager. They will coordinate personnel management including, but not limited to, recommending, developing, and conducting training for staff and supervisors, facilitating team building and conflict resolution, and developing and monitoring professional development plans. Considering the time-limited nature of this grant-funded position and the implementation focus/push of the next year, we are seeking a person who requires minimal training to perform the above tasks, is familiar with the Flint Registry, and has immediate availability. Critical skills for this position include experience and a proven track record of professionalism, maintenance of confidentiality, positivity and optimism, approachability, team player and team builder, conflict resolution, proactive problem solving, and mentorship. The Survey and Cohort Administer must espouse and emulate the shared values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This is a full-time, end-dated position located in Flint, Michigan. Typically a standard 8am – 5pm or similar, with exceptions based on assigned projects and deadlines. Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Management or field related to the employing unit; three to five years of related and progressively more expansive work experience in project management, business analysis, facilitating/training with a focus on business management; workflow process analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Qualifications Masters in organizational management, public health, business administration, public administration, or similar field; familiar with the Flint Registry project; excellent communication skills and attention to detail; organized and a self-starter; highly self-motivated; adept at working in large, interdisciplinary teams; quick learner and high sense of responsibility and honesty; experience working with those in crisis or stressful situations; track record demonstrating success in collaborative projects; demonstrates professionalism; team player and team builder; experience resolving conflict, proactive problem solving, and having difficult conversations.
