Overlooking the world-renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course with views of the Pacific Ocean, the AAA Five Diamond rated resort features 170 rooms and suites, 2 restaurants, a full-service spa, versatile meeting spaces, and unprecedented service.The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.ADDITIONAL BONUSES$250* Sign-on Bonus$100* Gift-Card for employees fully vaccinated against COVID-19Up to $500 Referral Bonus, after being hired, for each referral you make that is hired at any Evans Hotels propertyDiscounted Hotel Rooms for all employees and friends & familyFree Employee Parking and/or discounted MTS Pronto CardFree Meals & Refreshments during working shiftsDiscounts on cell phone bills, shoes, gym memberships, hotel stays at our sister properties, and more!SUMMARYThe Restaurant Manager / Outlets Manager Assistant – Fine Dining (“El/la Asistente de Gerente de Restaurante”) reports to the Outlets General Manager and supports in managing and supervising the restaurant operations and outlets while leading, training, and directing its personnel.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESContributes to the mission of providing quality service to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.Supports the Restaurant Manager in coordinating all administrative activities of the department, including schedules, performance evaluations, recruiting, record keeping, orientation, supervision, staffing and attending meetings.Conveys a favorable image of the organization by projecting a positive, professional appearance and demeanor to our guests and associates alike.Contributes input in the drafting, designing and implementation of the menus.Participates in the preparation of operating and capital budgets and forecasts and gives his full support in conforming to them.Helps in hiring positive individuals with pleasant can-do attitudes in keeping with our hotel culture.Participates in establishing training programs to ensure consistent high-quality service.Ensures the restaurant and bar facilities and equipment are maintained at the highest level of cleanliness in accordance with the Health Department and the hotel standards.Trains all departmental personnel in established safety and emergency procedures.Is a hands-on manager and interacts with staff and hotel guests to ensure quality service is provided.Liaises with other operating departments to guarantee the quality of services rendered.Maintains a house bank and conforms to established cash-handling procedures.Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related majorMinimum 2 years’ experience in food and beverage management, or related professional area.A luxury setting and/or fine dining establishment is preferred.Some knowledge of: World wines with a focus of California regions, wine pairings, proper corking, decanting, glassware, pouring, and appropriate presentation.Experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, running day-to-day operations, hospitality & customer service skills.Ability to perform basic bartending duties, including making cocktails.Food Handlers Certification, Alcohol Awareness Certification required. Wine education/certification preferred.Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.Ability to be poised under pressure with continued smiles, and maintain a highly diplomatic attitude with challenging guests and under stressful circumstances.The Lodge at Torrey Pines is owned by Evans Hotels, LLC, a family-owned and operated business committed to supporting and enhancing employee well-being through a variety of programs that nurture our staff professionally and personally.
