Job Summary
The Risk Coordinator will support the Risk Management Department in organizing the activities of the Risk Management program. These activities include but are not limited assisting with case reviews, medical chart reviews, and tracking and trending of risk reporting of potentially compensable events (PCEs) and risk occurrences to regulatory agencies.
Essential Functions
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

Creates timely reports of Risk team activities related to and Risk Department and Division and enterprise organization performance measures.
Performs investigations pursuant to the direction of the Director of Risk Management.
Ensures mandated events are reported timely to regulatory agencies.
Assists the Director of Risk Management and the Risk Manager in identifying potentially compensable events (PCEs), and ensures notification of same to the Claims Management Department.
Provides responses to internal/external requests for information.
Provides assistance with risk assessments and special projects as needed.
Creates documents for review by the risk management team, including pulling data from the event reporting system, and pertinent information from patient medical records.
Organizes activities of the Risk Management Department.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
One year of experience in a related position.
Education:
Associates degree
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Ability to translate data into appropriate output for reports and presentations.
Understanding of healthcare terminology and care delivery processes in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team by utilizing excellent networking and relationship building skills.
Additional Information
Preferred position qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field
Experience in use of database systems and analysis of data.
